Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall and Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis have received their first England call-ups with Liverpool’s Curtis Jones also in line to earn his first senior cap ahead of the games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland this month.
Lee Carsley has named his final England squad before handing the reins over to Thomas Tuchel, who begins his post on January 1, and the interim manager was able to include Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish despite fitness concerns for their clubs
England Under-21s boss Carsley offered maiden call-ups to Newcastle left-back Hall and Southampton centre-back Harwood-Bellis, two players he knows well, while Jones has been rewarded for his impressive form for Liverpool with a place in his 26-man group.
But there was no place for Morgan Rogers, despite his impressive performances for Aston Villa this season, while John Stones also misses out due to injury. Follow all the updates as England name their latest squad at 2pm.

Lee Carsley confirms next role after spell as England’s interim manager
Lee Carsley has confirmed he will return to England Under-21s following his interim spell in charge of the senior team.
Ahead of the final two matches in charge of the Three Lions, after overseeing three international breaks since Gareth Southgate’s departure, Carsley will make way for Thomas Tuchel.
And after naming his 26-man group, including places for uncapped players Curtis Jones, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Lewis Hall, Carsley outlined his next step.
“My role will be back with the Under-21s,” Carsley confirmed. “A role that I’m really privileged to do, there’s full support for the senior team.
“The job and the role is clear, to help produce and develop players for the senior team. And I think I’m in a better position to do that now, I’ve seen the level that the seniors are operating at, so that’ll be the case.”

Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall and Southampton centre-half Taylor Harwood-Bellis were given first England call-ups in interim boss Lee Carsley’s final squad.
Carsley will return to his role as Under-21s manager after forthcoming Nations League games with Greece and the Republic of Ireland, with Thomas Tuchel starting as the new boss in January.
And he has named uncapped defensive duo Hall and Harwood-Bellis in his 26-man group.
Hall has impressed for Newcastle this season, playing in all 10 Premier League games and could provide an answer to England’s left-back problems.

Lee Carsley confirms plans to remain with England Under-21s
Lee Carsley believes his stint in charge of England’s senior team will help his role with the Under-21s and producing players for the future.
“My role will be back with the Under-21s, a role that I’m really privileged to do,” Carsley confirmed when asked about his plans after Thomas Tuchel takes charge.
“With that there’s total support for the senior team and the job’s quite clear in terms of to produce and develop players to play in the senior team.
“I think I’m probably in a better position now to do that because I’ve obviously seen the level the seniors are operating at.”
Lee Carsley explains Morgan Rogers omission: ‘He’ll get there’
Lee Carsley was asked what Morgan Rogers is missing after the Aston Villa star was left out, and backed the 22-year-old to “get there” eventually.
"He's not missing anything, he's a player I'm really aware of, really important for the Under-21s,” Carsley responded.
“We had it in the last campaign, sometimes the competition dictates how quickly you move through the pathway.
“I've no doubt he'll get there. But he's crucial to the Under-21s, regaining that title and Morgan will be a big part of that.”
Lee Carsley on Curtis Jones: ‘One of the best I’ve worked with’
Lee Carsley is full of praise for Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, another he knows well from the Under-21s, and says the midfielder is “one of the best I’ve worked with”.
“Curtis is an all-round player, “Carsley said. “He plays in various positions and he’s a player I highly rate. He’s probably one of the best players I’ve worked with in terms of his ability.
“He’s shown a real consistent level of performance, playing every week, now. Most weeks he’s at a really high level and he’s shown he can score goals.
“He’s a player we’ve had a lot of success with working in the past.”

Lee Carsley confirms that he will return to England’s Under-21s when Thomas Tuchel takes over in January and won’t form part of the German’s backroom staff.
Carsley also confirms that Tuchel had no influence in selecting a 26-player squad ahead of games against Greece in Athens and Ireland at Wembley.
“He hasn’t had any influence on the squad selection,” Carsley said. “I’ve spoken to him by text, but it’s literally congratulations.
“I think he’s highly respectful of the job that not only myself, but the staff are doing.
“We’ve been left to it, like we always have, I still see this as a massive privilege and the trust the FA have shown us in the last three camps, this is the final two games.
“We’re looking forward to a tough game in Greece and the Republic of Ireland at home, two games we’re looking forward to.”

Lee Carsley knows both Lewis Hall and Taylor Harwood-Bellis from the England Under-21s. He says Newcastle’s Hall can compete to become England’s left-back on a long-term basis.
“They are both players who have played a lot of minutes this season. They have shown they can consistently play in the Premier League at a high level. They are players I know really well.
“Taylor is a player who really deserves it, he’s a brilliant captain. Lewis is a player that has taken his time to settle in. He’s high quality, left-footed and a player that has shown he deserves to be in.
“There’s such competition at right back in terms of the right backs that we’ve got. We haven’t got the same problems or challenges at left back. So, it’s a good challenge for Lewis to see if he can maintain that spot.”

Morgan Rogers set to miss out on England squad
Morgan Rogers has not been included in England’s final squad under Lee Carsley, the BBC are reporting. Rogers was tipped for a first senior call-up after a sensational start to the season for Aston Villa, but he is joining the Under-21s instead.
