Patrick Vieira made two changes to the Crystal Palace side that lost 1-0 to Aston Villa last time out. Skipper Luka Milivojevic replaced midfielder Cheick Doucoure, who was sent off in that match, while Eberechi Eze made way for Jeffrey Schlupp, who returned to the starting XI after he was unavailable against Villa.
England defender John Stones returned to the Manchester City line-up for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury in late January, in one of two changes for Pep Guardiola. Bernardo Silva was also re-introduced to the starting XI, while Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne started on the bench.
