Manchester City are reigning champions after a dominant 2020/21 season and Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to win it again boasting as they do one of the best squads in Europe.

European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.

Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.

It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

The disappointing draw for the visitors means that they fail to extend their lead at the top to six points, and Liverpool can move just one point behind them if they are victorious over Arsenal tomorrow. City will try and get back on track when they travel to Burnley next time out in the league, before a massive showdown with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium. The point for the Eagles means that they remain in 11th position, and they will host Arsenal in their next Premier League match.

The game finishes goalless after an impressive display from the hosts. They hold firm to deny City the three points, with some excellent defending helped by some toothless attacking from the visitors. The Eagles nearly took the lead early on, after Olise shot just wide after a sweeping attack. The Citizens grew into the game, and nearly went in front on 27 minutes when a drilled Cancelo shot from range pinged off the post straight back to Laporte. The French defender hit the rebound first time, but his effort ended up flying over to send the game into the break without any goals. Guardiola's side should've gone in front soon into the second half, when De Bruyne's shot from a tight angle went past Guaita but not the post. Once again, the ball came back into the danger area where Mahrez was waiting, only for Guaita to make an acrobatic save to tip the Algerian's shot over. The best opportunity of the game fell to Silva in the 70th minute, when a teasing Grealish delivery found the Portuguese midfielder, only for the ball to skim off his foot and go agonisingly wide. City huffed and puffed late on, but Palace remained resolute to see out the remaining minutes and earn a hard-fought point.
