A beaming Graham Potter looked on as Chelsea dispatched Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 to complete a superb week and provide his exciting new reign with lift-off. After sweeping AC Milan aside midweek, Potterball is starting to blossom with a thoroughly dominant display eventually justified by the score following a period of immense patience.
Kai Havertz’s opener and stunning individual efforts from Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja, a debut strike for the 21-year-old, saw the Blues move into the top four.
Managerless Wolves, led by interim coach Steve Davis, struggled to pose a persistent threat on the pitch, but the expectation to grab three points, sandwiched between Champions League games against the Italian champions offered further insight to Potter becoming increasingly comfortable at the top level.
The midweek victory over the Rossoneri gave Potter validation; the Blues boss labelled the 3-0 victory and surge in form as “progress”, before quickly reiterating that there was “a long way to go”. But that masterful game plan and switch in formation bolstered Potter’s ability to shuffle the pack and combat what he expects to be “a really intense period”.

Given the visitors' lack of goalscoring threat this season it's difficult to envision them getting back into this one - especially with the talent that Chelsea have on the bench. James, Sterling and Aubameyang are three players who'd start in their first-choice eleven and it's only because a Champions League trip to Milan is on the horizon this coming midweek that they've been rested.

Chelsea go into the break with a deserved lead. The London outfit have dominated this encounter from the first whistle and deserved to go a goal up when Mount teed up Havertz at the back post on the stroke of half-time. Wolves, on the other hand, have offered very little going forward and look uncertain in defence.
