On-loan Juventus striker Higuain, who enjoyed the best season of his career under Sarri at Napoli in 2015-16, struck after 16 minutes before curling in the fourth from 25 yards out.
Hazard, who has been singled out for criticism by the Blues boss, converted a penalty before half-time and netted his second after 66 minutes to take his season's tally to 15.
Huddersfield were well beaten and conceded a late fifth, credited to David Luiz after a wicked deflection off Elias Kachunga.

Cardiff break away on the counter, Niasse is offside but makes his run in an arch to brings himself back onside before the ball is played to him. He receives it and runs down the right before sending it into the box looking for Murphy. Murphy goes down but doesn't get a penalty.

Bournemouth win a free kick on the halfway line but they make no use of it. Solanke gets the ball away and Bobby Reid wins a free kick for the home side.
45 mins: Cardiff 1 - 0 Bournemouth
Interesting first half. Bournemouth have had the majority of possession but haven't made a lot of use of it. Cardiff have been quick on the counter attack but haven't been clinical in front of goal and a moment of madness from Cook is the difference between the two teams.
SECOND HALF: Cardiff 2 - 0 Bournemouth - Reid
Cardiff double their lead from the restart, Gunnarsson slots in Reid, who is onside, and Boruc comes out to try and beat him to the ball. Reid moves the ball past Boruc and casually passes it into the net.

That goal was so quick that Neil Warnock was still in the tunnel and missed the goal. Bournemouth look shaky at the back, Murphy is sent in behind with a ball over the top but nothing comes of it.

Clyne gets caught unawares at the back and gets booked. The free kick yields a corner for Cardiff but Bournemouth defend it.
56 mins: Cardiff 2 - 0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth win a corner, Stanislas plays it in and Cook wins the header. He knocks it down into the centre of the box and Cardiff clear it away.
60 mins: Cardiff 2 - 0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth have a free kick on the edge of the box, it's put into the box and sails over everyone's heads. 30 minutes for Bournemouth to get something out of the game.
