Chelsea secured their first victory of this season’s Women’s Champions League in an emphatic win over Paris FC at Stamford Bridge. Needing a positive result after being held to a draw against Real Madrid last time out, the Blues took the lead through Sam Kerr on the half hour mark. Chelsea’s captain for the night poking home Lauren James’ threaded pass into the box.

Eight minutes later Paris responded. Thea Graboval leaping into the air from a corner to float the ball over Ann-Katrin Berger and send the visitors into the break on level terms.

Berger made up for that goal by denying Mathilde Bourdieu early in the second half before Kerr poked the Blues ahead two minutes later. She completed her hat-trick by chipping the ball over the goalkeeper and opening up a comfortable lead for the hosts.

There was more to come though as Sophie Ingle came off the bench, met a corner ball with a volley in stoppage time and slotted her effort into the far bottom corner. Chelsea remain second in the group but they’re back to winning ways in Europe.

Relive the Women’s Champions League action below:

GOAL! Chelsea 3-1 Paris FC (Kerr, 55’)⚽️

55 mins: Hat-trick!

The ball is booted long and Teninsoun Sissoko is worried about Sam Kerr. Rightly so.

The defender fails to deal with the ball and the Chelsea captain brings it under control, nips to the right and darts into space. She spies that Chiamaka Nnadozie is off her line and chips the ball over the goalkeeper.

Nnadozie scrambles backwards and flaps at the dropping ball. She can’t clear it and the end result is a third goal for the Australian forward!

Chelsea 1-1 Paris FC

46 mins: Save! Paris should be ahead.

They play through Chelsea and run the ball to the edge of the box. It’s quickly squared to Mathilde Bourdieu who skips away from Kadeisha Buchanan and pings a shot at goal.

Ann-Katrin Berger makes her decision early and flies off her line. She’s right on top of Bourdieu as the shot comes in and manages to smother the effort.

Second half! Chelsea 1-1 Paris FC

Fran Kirby has been introduced at half-time by Emma Hayes. She replaces Jessie Fleming and will try to give the Blues more control in the middle of the pitch.

As it stands Chelsea will hold onto second place in the group following Hacken’s victory over Real Madrid earlier today.

HT Chelsea 1-1 Paris FC

1-1 seems to be a fair score at half-time. Chelsea haven’t been able to totally control the game with Paris repeatedly showing their quality in the final third.

The Blues created five chances with three on target in that half with Paris managing four and two on target. It’s a close game.

GOAL! Chelsea 1-1 Paris FC (Greboval, 38’)⚽️

38 mins: Equaliser!

Getane Thiney floats a lovely corner ball into the middle of the box and picks out Paris centre-back Thea Greboval. She wins the header and nods the ball over towards goal.

It goes over Ann-Katrin Berger and dips underneath the bar where Jess Carter is trying to cover her goalkeeper. She attempts to clear the danger but only manages to head the ball onto the underside of the crossbar and it rebounds into the back of the net.
