Follow live coverage as Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League today.
Manchester City are reigning champions after beating Liverpool to the finish line in a neck-and-neck 2021/22 title race where a comeback win on the final day of the season against Aston Villa secured a fourth title in five years for Pep Guardiola's side.
Jurgen Klopp's Reds were on course for a quadruple last season but were forced to settle for just an FA Cup and Carabao Cup win and will return trying to win the title again just as they did in 2020.
It was a dramatic season for Chelsea a year ago with Roman Abramovich now replaced by Todd Boehly as owner in west London. He will want an instant return on his hefty investment at Stamford Bridge while Tottenham, back in the Champions League, will want to kick on once more too.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest promoted to the top tier for 2021/22 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.
We will bring you all the action and updates from today's game in the live blog below:
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
Madueke has looked dangerous whenever he's been in possession for Chelsea, but has struggled to cause Forest any real problems in the final third. The January signing from PSV has managed five touches in Forest's box, three more than any other Chelsea player, as well as completing 10 final-third passes, winning five of his game-high 11 duels, and putting in two tackles and clearance to help out his side in defence. Promise.
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
The first half comes to an end, with a seriously under-par Chelsea 1-0 down to a resilient Forest side. Awoniyi's headed opener was arguably Forest's only real chance of the half, but unlike the hosts, they were able to make it count. Chelsea have had the lion's share of possession but have done virtually nothing with it, with Sterling and Hall having shots blocked before Navas made an excellent save from Felix's header. That aside, Chelsea have really struggled to create in the final third, with Forest's rock-solid backline coping well in defence of their slender lead.

We'll play three additional first-half minutes at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea certainly needing to change things up if they're to rescue anything from this game.
