At the other end, Fernandez goes down in the City area and appeals for a penalty. Nothing is given, but the Argentina midfielder stays down and is in need of attention from the medical team.

OFFSIDE, NO GOAL! Chelsea steal possession and counter down the left flank. They work the ball across to Palmer, whose fierce drive is parried by Ederson. Jackson is there to tuck away the rebound, but his joy is cut short by the raising of the offside flag against him.

A couple of causes for concern for City as De Bruyne and Savinho are down following that attack. The visitors will hope the issues are nothing too serious.

City break down the right with Savinho leading the charge once more. Doku and De Bruyne then combine to find Silva, who takes on Gusto before shooting straight at Sanchez.

At the other end, Nkunku cushions Palmer's deep cross to Jackson, who subsequently tees up Fernandez, but Akanji is there to deflect his effort behind.

GOOD SAVE! Chelsea are sloppy in possession and Doku works space to shoot from the edge of the area. His effort deflects off Fofana and loops dangerously towards goal, but Sanchez does well to tip the ball over.

Savinho gets the better of Cucurella and darts into the penalty area. The former Girona winger waits and sets the ball to the edge of the box for the onrushing Kovacic, but the Chelsea defender makes amends by blocking the first-time attempt.

Fernandez goes to ground in the box under contact from Savinho. However, the referee does not deem it worthy enough of pointing to the spot.
