An 89th-minute goal from substitute Ellis Simms earned relegation-threatened Everton a point at Chelsea on Saturday in a lively 2-2 Premier League draw. Second-half goals from Joao Felix and Kai Havertz with a penalty had looked like earning the home side victory but Simms muscled past Kalidou Koulibaly and his shot beat Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Felix, whose trickery and silky skills had promised much in the first half, finally found the net in the 52nd minute with a low shot that crept in off the post. Chelsea enjoyed more than 70% possession in the first half with Everton defending in numbers but the goal forced Sean Dyche’s men forward and the game opened up.

They earned their reward in the 69th minute when Abdoulaye Doucoure got on the end of a loose ball after a Dwight McNeil corner and pushed it over the line to make it 1-1. Soon afterwards Chelsea won a penalty when James Tarkowski brought down Reece James and Havertz curled the ball into the top corner sending Jordan Pickford the wrong way, only for Simms to equalise again for Everton.

We will bring you all the action and updates from today's game in the live blog below:

Now that the ball has finally gone out of play, the referee calls Gueye over to show him a yellow card for that earlier foul on Pulisic.

Pulisic is brought down, but the referee plays the advantage as Joao Felix superbly spins out of trouble. He spreads it out to Chilwell, who sees him cross blocked before Gueye clears Havertz's follow-up ball.

Joao Felix does brilliantly to keep the ball in play while off-balance and touches it into Pulisic. He turns straight into trouble, which is greeted by groans from the home fans, and Everton clear their lines.

Coleman takes the free-kick from just inside Everton's half and Keane nods it down for Doucoure on the right. His deep cross is aimed towards Tarkowski, but he can't shake James to make contact.

CHANCE! Pulisic gets a yard on Coleman and squeezes a low cross into the box. Havertz gets a touch at the near post, but that actually takes it out of Joao Felix's reach as Pickford cuts it out in front of him.

James has to rush back to stop Kepa's pass from being intercepted, and it's the start of a brilliant, lightning-quick team move. Fernandez, Kovacic and Pulisic are all involved in getting it out to Joao Felix, who plays his low cross behind Havertz.

Chelsea give it away cheaply in midfield, so McNeil decides to try his luck from range. He leans back as he strikes it though, so it's always rising, and it flies into the stands.
