Chelsea vs Crystal Palace LIVE: Premier League result and final score after late Noni Madueke penalty
Chelsea 2-1 Crystal Palace: Madueke’s 89th minute penalty gave Mauricio Pochettino some relief after the Blues looked to be heading for a familiar result
An 89th-minute penalty from substitute Noni Madueke earned Chelsea a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League London derby on Wednesday.
Madueke was brought down by Eberechi Eze and, after waving play on, referee Michael Salisbury was called by VAR to the screen where he signalled a foul.
Palace’s Michael Olise had shown fine skill when unmarked at the far post he chested down Jordan Ayew’s pass and finished deftly past Djordje Petrovic in first-half stoppage time.
The goal cancelled out a 13th-minute strike from Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk who turned in a low cross from Malo Gusto.

Richards heads away an inswinging corner deep inside his own area, then Andersen nods it further clear and Palace quickly set off on a lightning-quick counter. Eze eventually runs into too much traffic in a central position, though, and Chelsea escape.

Another brilliant throughball by Thiago Silva - this time from deep - picks out the run of Broja, who takes the ball down perfectly with his first touch but then fires into the side-netting with a rather rash finish from the left side of Palace's area.

SAVE! Released on the right side of the box by Schlupp, Olise has one shot blocked before firing the follow-up low and hard towards the near post: Petrovic gets down to make a crucial save! It's just a corner for Palace! This game can still go either way!

NO GOAL! Chelsea are denied a second goal by an offside ruling! It's heartbreak for the Blues and particularly for Jackson, who had picked himself up following a terrible miss and seemingly scored the winner! It stays 1-1!

CHELSEA STRIKE AGAIN! Arriving unmarked at the back post, Jackson slots past Henderson to make up for his miss just moments ago! A cross from the right by Thiago Silva is deflected into the striker's path and he makes no mistake! But wait, the VAR will take a look at this - was he offisde?
