Chelsea vs Crystal Palace LIVE: FA Cup result, final score and reaction today
Relive all the action from the semi-final at Wembley
Ruben Loftus-Cheek capped his impressive comeback with a first Chelsea goal since May 2019 as the Blues defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 to reach their third successive FA Cup final.
Loftus-Cheek’s thunderbolt finish dragged the Blues out of a sluggish performance and into a 16th FA Cup final, with Mason Mount’s angled effort sealing the deal.
England midfielder Loftus-Cheek spent the 2017-18 season on loan with the Eagles, even forcing his way to the World Cup after his campaign at Selhurst Park.
But the 26-year-old showed no split loyalty in dumping his former side out of England’s premier cup competition.
Loftus-Cheek’s first Chelsea goal since the 1-1 Europa League draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on May 9, 2019 spurred the Blues on past their clear fatigue and into yet another final. Relive all the action below:
West Ham 0-1 Burnley
38 mins: West Ham look a little stunned after that goal. There was only one team in it before Weghorst struck.
The Hammers have the ball back and seem to be in control once more. Remember, there will be a huge amount of stoppage time at the end of the first half.
West Ham 0-1 Burnley
36 mins: Burnley are now just one point behind Everton in their battle to avoid the drop. As it stands at least.
West Ham dominated the game before that serious injury to Westwood, but now they find themselves behind.
HT: Celtic 0-0 Rangers
Celtic and Rangers are goalless at half-time in their Scottish Cup semi-final.
GOAL! West Ham 0-1 Burnley (Weghorst, 33)
33 mins: GOAL! Immediately after the restart and Burnley have broken the deadlock.
A cross came in from a Maxwel Cornet corner and after the first header from Jay Rodriguez crashed off the bar, Wout Weghorst climbed highest to nod home the rebound.
Against the run of play the visitors are ahead!
West Ham 0-0 Burnley
33 mins: Josh Brownhill has come on for Burnley as Ashley Westwood managed a smile while being taken off the pitch.
We are back underway.
Newcastle 1-1 Leicester
At St James’ Park we have seen a rather bizarre equaliser.
A corner was swung in and the ball ends up in between the legs of Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel. Bruno Guimaraes kicks the ball out from under his legs and into the net, before the referee blows for a foul.
VAR then took a look before the referee went over to the monitor and gave the goal.
All square.
West Ham 0-0 Burnley
29 mins: Westwood is currently being put onto a stretcher as the players wait on the side of the pitch.
A worrying moment for all involved.
West Ham 0-0 Burnley
27 mins: Creswell and Vlasic both looked absolutely stunned when Westwood went down. You could tell from their reactions that it was a serious injury.
I don’t have much information to give you at the moment. The game remains paused.
West Ham 0-0 Burnley
25 mins: So Vlasic appeared to fall onto Westwood’s outstretched leg as he attempted to make a challenge.
The Burnley man is being treated by several medical staff on the pitch and there is a feeling this could be very serious.
Obviously, the game will be stopped for a while here.
