Follow live reaction from Chelsea‘s win over Barrow in the Carabao Cup. Liverpool are the reigning champions of the competition following an extra time victory over Chelsea themselves at Wembley last term, so new boss Enzo Maresca will be hoping to go one better and land his first trophy at the club.
It couldn’t have started in much more routine fashion either, as Christopher Nkunku hit a hat-trick against a side who simply had no chance, given the Blues’ rotated field of international stars including Joao Felix. The Portuguese attacker teed up one and hit the post with a free-kick himself, the ball eventually going in off the goalkeeper, while Pedro Neto also scored in a five-goal thrashing.
