Follow live coverage as Brighton & Hove Albion face Nottingham Forest today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Nottingham Forest

Forest have won their last four Premier League away games, more than they had in their first 36 on the road following their return to the division in 2022. They last won five consecutive away games (any division) in January 1994, and last did so in the top-flight in March 1989. They have a lot of work to do here though if they want to match that run.

Well, Brighton have started this second half how they finished the first, very much on the front foot. It's pivotal for Forest they don't fall further behind.

NEARLY 3-1!!! Persistent work from Welbeck sees him fight and scrap for the ball in the Forest box, eventually getting a shot away. Somehow, though, Sels manages to block it behind for a corner. That was simply superb from the forward.

Welbeck's goal was his 70th in the Premier League, but his very first from a direct free-kick in what was only his fourth direct free-kick attempt.

Brighton scored with their only two shots on target of the first half, creating just 0.39 xG in the opening 45 minutes. They've been far from their best, though Forest haven't shown too much in attack themselves, with Wood's penalty accounting for 0.79 of their 0.86 xG. There hasn't been too much going forward from either side, yet we go into the break with three goals on the scoreboard.
