Follow live coverage as Brighton & Hove Albion face Nottingham Forest today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Nottingham Forest

Brighton scored with their only two shots on target of the first half, creating just 0.39 xG in the opening 45 minutes. They've been far from their best, though Forest haven't shown too much in attack themselves, with Wood's penalty accounting for 0.79 of their 0.86 xG. There hasn't been too much going forward from either side, yet we go into the break with three goals on the scoreboard.

The half-time whistle blows with the hosts 2-1 ahead at the interval. It was an opening 45 minutes that was frustrating for Brighton for the vast majority, with Forest going ahead from the spot through Wood after Baleba brought down Hudson-Odoi. Hurzeler's men were really struggling to create much in front of goal, but Van Hecke's brilliant cross found Hinshelwood, who nodded home in quite superb fashion to get the hosts level. Just three minutes, the turnaround was complete as Welbeck, who has started this season in fine form, caught out Sels with a free-kick to put Brighton 2-1 up at the break.

Forest look completely shellshocked, and now it's them that could do with the interval. They haven't got long to wait now, thankfully for them.

Aina goes in the book for cynically bringing down Mitoma, who was on the charge towards the Forest box.

Brighton have just not been at it, and it feels like they need the break to regroup and work out how they're going to fashion more in the final third.
