The 2023/24 Premier League season is under way and you can follow every game and every goal right here with The Independent.

This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Fati has an effort. It was always going to be tricky - hitting a bouncing ball - yet he gets over it and blasts straight at Sels.

Some top work from Estupinan is unfortunately unrewarded. He darts forward on the left and cuts back across the box to find Adingra. The Ivorian tries a cross but a block ricochets off him for a goal-kick.

Forest have definitely stepped up compared to the earlier 45 minutes. Dunk is forced into a vital clearance behind for a corner to the visitors. Some towering red shirts are present, yet Brighton deal with the threat - even if Verbruggen botched the initial punch.

Forest have a free-kick after Ferguson illustrates why he's not a defender. Murillo stands over it from about 25 yards. Instead of a floated ball, he's selfish and fires straight at the keeper from range. Poor.

Origi goes close! From the mirrored position of his testing effort which Verbruggen saved low in the first period, the Belgian flies free on the right. He has less composure this time and blazes over.

So, Forest have work to do. From losing positions this term, they've mustered 19 points. Can they add to this tally?
