Brighton & Hove Albion vs Newcastle United
That win puts paid to any thought of Brighton having a soft underbelly, with the Seagulls soaring back into the top four on nine points. It's a far bleaker situation for Newcastle though, who drop further to 13th in the table, their +4 goal difference from that opening day eradicated by three straight defeats. It's still early in the campaign, but Eddie Howe has a task on his hands to turn around a squad who lost just five times in 38 league games last season.

Who else to talk about but boy-of-the-moment Evan Ferguson. The 18-year-old Ireland forward could do no wrong for the Seagulls, and ended the game with the match ball. As well as this, he fired off four shots, all of which were on target for an xG of 0.91, and won seven of his nine duels, including two of three dribbles. His presence in the final third was far, far too much for Newcastle to handle, being fouled four times by the Magpies, who simply had no answer for 90 painful minutes on the south coast.

It's all over at the Amex, as Brighton return to the winner's circle with an emphatic performance! Evan Ferguson's hat-trick sees the teenager join an elite club of young Premier League starlets, and seals three points for the dominant Seagulls. Brighton dominated proceedings in the second half, and doubled their advantage when Ferguson curled home a beautiful strike from long range. As with his first, there was an element of luck about his third too, with his shot deflecting off Schar into the net as Newcastle faltered at the back. Wilson's impressive stoppage-time finish restored some parity for the visitors, but on the whole, Newcastle were well beaten and lose for the third game running, while Brighton continue an impressive start to the season with their third win in four matches.

WIDE!!! A glorious chance to make it four!! Lamptey seizes onto a loose Newcastle pass at pace, and fires the ball across the face of goal to an arriving Mitoma, who can't turn it in at the back post with the goal at his mercy!

Mitoma looks to cut inside having received a forward pass from Milner, but strayed a yard offside and is flagged accordingly.
