Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Brighton were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal in their most recent home game, but that came after a run of 12 matches without defeat at the Amex Stadium. Not since December 2022 have they lost successive league matches here. City will be looking to change that when this game gets going in a few moments' time.
