Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leicester City LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction
Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers face off at the Amex Stadium with important Premier League points at stake
Bottom-of-the-table Leicester City failed to ease mounting pressure on manager Brendan Rodgers after their winless start was extended by a thumping 5-2 defeat at high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion.
Leandro Trossard’s second-half finish and Alexis Mac Allister’s double – a penalty followed by a stunning late free-kick – condemned the struggling Foxes to a fifth-successive Premier League defeat.
The visitors were level at half-time at the Amex Stadium thanks to Patson Daka after a Luke Thomas own goal and a Moises Caicedo strike overturned Kelechi Iheanacho’s first-minute opener.
But they were outclassed for the duration of the second period and have now taken just one point from a possible 18, leading to a ‘Rodgers Out’ banner being unfurled in the disgruntled away end at full-time. City would also have lost by a bigger margin had Mac Allister not had a stunning long-range strike ruled out for offside against Enock Mwepu following a lengthy VAR check.

CHANCE! Gross is played through on goal by Welbeck and he only has Ward to beat, but the keeper makes a superb save to deny him. However, it wouldn't have counted anyway as the flag goes up for offside.

CLOSE! Ndidi plays the ball back to Ward in his box and the keeper takes a poor touch and his clearance is chased down by Welbeck, who then has an open goal to aim at, but from a very tight angle. The striker can't keep the ball down and it flies just inches over the crossbar.

Decent effort! March cuts inside from the right wing and fires a shot at goal from the edge of the box, but it flies well wide of the Leicester goal.

Good move! Barnes almost sneaks in behind the Brighton defence, but Veltman does brilliantly to read it and cut out the pass, otherwise the winger was through on goal.

Stoppage in play here as there has been a clash of heads between Evans and Caicedo in the penalty area and both players are receiving some treatment, but they should be fine to continue.
