Follow live coverage as Brighton & Hove Albion face Everton today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Everton

Everton secure an important 1-0 victory away at Brighton in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium! The Toffees opened the scoring in the first half thanks to a composed penalty from Ndiaye after Veltman handled inside the box. After the break, the Seagulls threw everything at Everton, with Mitoma causing problems down the left-hand side. Rutter enjoyed Brighton's best chance of the game as he pounced on a loose ball just outside the box before sending a thunderous strike at goal, but his effort whistled past the post. Mangala suffered an injury late in the second half, and with Moyes using all his available substitutions, the Toffees were forced to play with 10 men. The Seagulls failed to break them down, and Everton secured an impressive 1-0 victory away from home. Up next for Brighton is a trip to Nottingham Forest, while Everton will host Leicester next weekend. That's all for today, goodbye!
