Follow live coverage as Brentford face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Wolves are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season and Gary O’Neil’s side currently sit bottom of the table with a solitary point. However, there record at Brentford is cause for optimism. They are unbeaten in their last five away league games at Brentford, winning two of their last three visits. However, they are also on a nine-match away winless streak. There last away win came at Tottenham in February. Wolves have had a tough start to the season with all six of their Premier League fixtures against teams currently in the top half of the table, but O’Neil’s side will have to start picking up points against whichever team they face if they are to climb the table.

Brentford welcome Wolves to the Gtech Community Stadium hoping to end a three-match winless streak and create more Premier League history. The Bees became the first Premier League team ever to score inside the opening minute of three consecutive matches when they scored against West Ham last time out, and they have the chance to extend that run to four against Wolves. However, despite their fast starts to games Thomas Frank’s side have not built on their leads and so there is a sense that the Bees should be higher in the table than their current position of 12th. They will want to go into the international break with a victory instead of on a four-game winless run.
