Follow live coverage as Brentford face Leicester City today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Brentford vs Leicester City

Brentford register a sixth home win of the season in seven attempts, thumping Leicester City 4-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium, thanks to a perfect day from Schade in attack. Despite starting the match the better of the two sides, the Bees were pegged back early through Buonanotte’s close-range strike after 21 minutes, but it wouldn’t last long as the hosts put themselves ahead 2-1 by the half-hour mark thanks to goals from Wissa (from a Schade assist) and Schade himself. Having not found the back of the net this season, Schade would go on to seal his hat-trick with goals late in first-half stoppage time and a quarter-hour after the restart, to thoroughly put Leicester City to the sword. Despite showing promise to start the match, the Foxes were not able to offer anything of note in the second period, despite the introductions of Daka and Mavididi, with the visitors hitting the target on just one occasion after their goal. Brentford win after producing an xG of 2.31 and take on Aston Villa in their next match on December 4, while Leicester City’s xG of 1.04 is not enough to take anything from the Gtech Community Stadium, but they’ll get another chance on December 3 against West Ham. That concludes our commentary of the Premier League fixture between Brentford and Leicester City - we hope you’ve enjoyed it!

Ndidi wins the ball back in midfield and holds off Carvalho before finding De Cordova-Reid on the right wing, but the substitute’s eventual cross towards the penalty spot sails high over the head of a leaping Daka and into the hands of Flekken.

Brentford will be looking to slow down the pace of play with five minutes to go, as it appears the result is more-or-less certain. The three points would put the Bees eighth as things stand - three spots above where they were to start the day, though results elsewhere will help determine their place by the end of matchweek 13.
