Brentford will have to continue to open up and attack, looking most dangerous on the counter-attack and after defensive set-pieces. Damsgaard is a natural choice, with the winger possessing a wicked curling shot - a tactic that the Bees have looked dangerous employing in the first half. Frank Lampard will have to decide whether to stick or twist, with Allan and Keane capable of holding a lead and Rondon a threat from corners and free-kicks.

The first half at the GTech Community Stadium comes to a close with Everton ahead by one goal to nil, thanks to Gordon’s far-post finish after 24 minutes. The hosts started the match the brighter and more adventurous of the two sides, with Wissa and Mbeumo linking up and cutting inside as much as possible. The Bees looked to have taken the lead six minutes before conceding but Jensen’s strike could only hit the base of the post. Frank’s side would then hit the post again 16 minutes later, with Toney’s header beating the goalkeeper but not the goal to keep the score unchanged.
