Aston Villa vs Luton Town
It's all over at Villa Park, as the hosts make their first-half dominance count in the second to seal a comfortable three points. Spurning several chances in the game's first 45 minutes, Villa wasted no time in the second as Diaby doubled their lead with a low drive from close range. 2-0 up with the second period just four minutes old, Unai Emery's side then looked to push the envelope, and again went close through Watkins before Luton captain Lockyer accidentally turned the ball into his own net for 3-0. That didn't stem the flow of chances though, with Kabore making a crucial challenge to deny Bailey before both the Jamaican and captain McGinn blazed wide from close range. Another own goal would give Luton some parity late in the game, following some slapstick defending from Konsa and Martinez, but despite Mendi and Adebayo having opportunities to close the gap further, the Hatters were thoroughly second-best throughout and lost 3-1 to a Villa side who are proving to be this season's surprise package. Other results keep the Villans in fifth, just a point outside the Champions League places, while Luton remain languishing in 18th after their seventh defeat of the season.

CHANCE!!! Successive corners give Luton another late chance at a second, and the ball's bouncing all over the place before being turned goalwards by Barkley. He's off-balance as he shoots though, and can only send a tame effort into the grateful gloves of Martinez.

BLOCKED!!! Almost another gift for Luton! A dawdling Dendoncker loses out to Barkley on the edge of his own box, and the ball drops to Adebayo. He looks to fire home from close range, but Torres steps across from nowhere to make a crucial block and send the effort behind for a corner!

We're into four additional minutes at Villa Park - does that give Luton enough time to claw another goal or two back?

Luton have been a fan on late goals this season, scoring six in the last 15 minutes of their 10 games so far. Only Arsenal (eight) and Liverpool (seven) have scored more in the 2023-24 Premier League.

WIDE!!! Tielemans' foul on Chong gives Luton an attacking free-kick, but Townsend's pinpoint cross into the box is headed wide by Mendi, despite the defender having no-one near him and plenty of time to send the effort on target!

Ogbene's goal against Forest last time out also came in the 83rd minute, and ended up being the first of a late surge that saw Luton equalise in injury time! They're further behind by two in this one, but stranger things have happened in football - could the ultimate comeback be on?
