Aston Villa vs Ipswich Town
A brave resistance by 10-man Ipswich Town keeps Aston Villa at bay, as the Tractor Boys hang on for a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Kieran McKenna's men were up against it when Tuanzebe was sent off shortly before half-time, but they even struck first - danger man Delap netting his 10th Premier League goal of the season with a typically clinical finish. Thereafter, it was backs to the wall, as Villa - inspired by subs Rashford and Asensio - laid siege to the visitors' goal, and only a series of saves from debutant Palmer kept Ipswich on level terms. Despite their recent success in cup competitions, Villa continue to stutter in the English top flight: it's now four league games without a win for Unai Emery's side, who couldn't produce a late winner although their xG of 2.01 far exceeded the 0.36 managed by Ipswich. While they will host Liverpool and then Chelsea in the coming week, their relegation-threatened opponents are set to face Tottenham next time out. That's all from Birmingham today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!

Persistent work from Maatsen on the left byline earns Villa yet another corner-kick - their 15th of this match. First, Asensio has a shot blocked, then Rogers sees an attempt cleared by Woolfenden.

Heavily involved in almost all of Aston Villa's attacks since leaving the bench, Asensio is caught offside. Again, that allows Palmer to take his time and kill a few more seconds - Ipswich are so close to claiming a point.

Palmer leaves his line to fingertip away a curling corner by Asensio, giving Ipswich some breathing space. Villa soon reclaim possession, though, and resume their relentless siege. Since Rashford and Asensio came on, the hosts have been totally on top.

When a Tielemans free-kick from the right flank is not fully cleared by a tiring Ipswich defence, Rashford - who is left in space at the back post - shoots over the crossbar by some distance. Time is running out for Aston Villa to win this.
