Arsenal are looking to respond after Manchester City defeated Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick off to pile the pressure on the Premier League leaders.
Mikel Arteta’s men have had their lead cut to five points but can restore it back to eight if they defeat Javi Gracia’s Leeds United at the Emirates stadium this afternoon. Illness has kept Arsenal’s star man, Bukayo Saka, on the bench but he could play a part later in the game if the Gunners require his services but with big matches on the horizon, Saka may sit this one out.
Leeds meanwhile are hoping to propel themselves further up the table. In a close and tense relegation battle - featuring all the teams from 20th up to 12th - any points that Leeds can take away from London today will be a big boost to their chances of survival.

Arsenal vs Leeds United
Arsenal have the lead at the break, but could count themselves a little fortunate. They have struggled to unlock Leeds' defence and have regularly wasted possession when trying to chip the ball over the top of their low block. When regaining possession, they must break quickly and make the most of the opposition defence being out of position, rather than slow the game down. As for the away side, a mistake from Ayling has cost them what would be a deserved clean sheet at the break. Alert defensively, they have broken forwards at the right times with Summerville and Aaronson always ready to get forward. They had two great chance before the break and will be disappointed at their lack of a clinical edge.

Arsenal have the lead at the break after Jesus' scored a penalty against the run of play. Replacing Saka in the team, Jesus struck his spot-kick down the middle of the goal after being tripped inside the box by Ayling. The only goal before half-time came before Leeds had two golden opportunities to break the deadlock. First, Summerville played a quick one-two with Roca before sending his low effort straight at Ramsdale. The 21-year-old then held up the ball before playing a pass down the left of the box towards Harrison, but his effort was pushed away by the goalkeeper. The Gunners' only other opportunity of the first 45 minutes came through Jesus but he failed to hit the target with a header.
