Arsenal survived a massive scare in their pursuit of the Premier League title as they came back from two goals down to beat Bournemouth 3-2 with a last-gasp winner from Reiss Nelson, in a rip-roaring contest in north London on Saturday.

Relegation-threatened Bournemouth scored the second-quickest Premier League goal of all time after nine seconds of play through Philip Billing, and despite Arsenal’s domination, Marcos Senesi made it 2-0 for the visitors before the hour.

But then began an Arsenal comeback that could prove a pivotal moment in the title race.

Thomas Partey prodded a shot past Bournemouth keeper Neto just past the hour mark, and eight minutes later substitute Ben White’s volley crossed the line despite Neto’s desperate dive.

With the Emirates Stadium crowd roaring their side on it appeared Bournemouth had held on for a precious point in their fight against relegation, but substitute Nelson’s sensational strike seven minutes into stoppage time sealed a remarkable win. Arsenal restored their five-point lead over Manchester City, who had won earlier, with 63 points from 26 games.

Wide! Arsenal work it short and eventually find Martinelli, who slams into the side-netting left-footed. Neto never looked likely to be troubled by that!

Tomiyasu goes down under a challenge from Senesi inside the area, and there's another VAR review for a possible Arsenal penalty. It's swiftly waved away, however, as it looked to be the Gunners player that initiated the contact.

That's a big chance squandered by Bournemouth! Arsenal hearts are in mouths as Billing plays Solanke through on goal. The striker takes an awkward touch to the left of the box, however, and eventually mishits his cross out for a goal-kick. The Cherries should have worked that break better!

Zemura matches Saka stride for stride to poke the ball out for another Arsenal corner. It's worked along the area for Smith Rowe, but his shot is blocked before Martinelli volleys into the ground, and the ball bounces through to Neto.

What a challenge from Mepham! Arsenal launch an attack down the right, and Saka looks to cut the ball back for Smith Rowe 10 yards out. The substitute shapes up a side-footed finish, but the Bournemouth man stretches to poke the ball away from his reach.
