Bodo/Glimt vs Arsenal LIVE: Europa League result and final score as Gunners hang on after Bukayo Saka goal
Bodo/Glimt 0-1 Arsenal: The Gunners survived a few scares as they held on to maintain their 100 per cent record in Europe this season
Arsenal continued their perfect Europa League record as Mikel Arteta’s side held on to claim a narrow win at the Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt thanks to Bukayo Saka’s first-half goal.
Bodo/Glimt had won 14 European home games in a row but Saka gave Arsenal the perfect start when he exchanged a one-two with Albert Sambi Lokonga, before the ball deflected off the attacker and into the net.
The hosts had their moments in the first half but it wasn’t until after the break that the Norwegian side really threatened Arsenal. Ola Solbakken went close before Runar Espejord wasted a great chance on the hour mark.
But Arsenal successfully weathered the storm to make it three wins out of three in Group A, continuing their excellent form ahead of Sunday’s trip to Southampton in the Premier League. Catch up with how Arsenal maintained their winning run before coverage continues with Manchester United vs Omonia Nicosia:
Scott McTominay finally beats inspired Francis Uzoho with last-minute winner for Man United
In a tweet posted on the day this Europa League group was drawn, Omonia Nicosia’s back-up goalkeeper Francis Uzoho vowed to “for sure die for that post” should he somehow get the chance to play at the home of the club he has supported since a boy. He did get that chance, and did just about everything in his power to deny Manchester United. He did, for 93 minutes. He spent the 94th laid out on his back in despair.
Scott McTominay’s winner at the death, from his side’s 33rd shot on Uzoho’s goal, prevented the seventh-best team in Cyprus last season from taking a historic point at Old Trafford. It avoided one of the more ignominious results in United’s storied European history and put Erik ten Hag’s side all but through to the knock-out stages. A point at home to Sheriff Tiraspol in fortnight’s time will be enough to progress.
This was a long night for United, one which saw Ten Hag’s players grow visibly desperate as it dragged on. Countless chances went begging. For all Uzoho’s brilliance, his goal led a charmed life at times too. Omonia’s resistance was eventually broken by a neat turn from substitute Jadon Sancho, in a cameo that may ignite his stalling Old Trafford career, and McTominay’s drive past the poor goalkeeper.

‘Not a coincidence’ in-form Arsenal ended Bodo/Glimt’s winning run says Arteta
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said it was “not a coincidence” that it was his in-form side who ended Bodo/Glimt’s run of 14 consecutive home European wins earlier this evening.
The Gunners left the Arctic Circle with a hard-fought 1-0 Europa League victory as Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the evening in fortuitous circumstances.
The win, Arsenal’s 11th in 12 games across all competitions this season, puts them on the brink of qualifying for the knockout stages.

That victory means that Manchester United still have the chance to finish at the top of Group E with two games to go. Real Sociedad have won all four of their games so far but they play United again in the final game of the group.
It seems likely that these two teams will go through but the second placed team will have to advance through a play-off match with one of the dropped Champions League teams in order to reach the last-16.
