Follow live coverage as AFC Bournemouth face West Ham United today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

AFC Bournemouth vs West Ham United

Midfield duo Cook and Christie exchange a quick one-two before the latter miscues a left-footed half-volley well wide of the target. Bournemouth's dominance seems to have prompted a West Ham change on the touchline.

West Ham are penned back as Soucek hooks Kluivert's cheeky backheel out for a throw-in. Semenyo is pulling the strings in the last five minutes or so, but will the home side be able to unlock Lopetegui's defence?

Smith races around Semenyo on the overlap, breezing away from Alvarez before slicing a poor cross over Fabianski's crossbar. Bournemouth are starting this half with real intensity, in stark contrast to the opening period.

ANOTHER SAVE! Semenyo makes a mockery of a couple of challenges before pinging into the feet of Evanilson, who takes a touch before offloading. Christie sets his sights from long range but his fizzing left-footed effort is tipped over by Fabianski, who makes a third save in as many minutes.

Semenyo switches flanks and finds himself on the left, ghosting inside with ease before drilling low towards the near post. Fabianski, like against Kluivert moments ago, moves well and saves low to his right with another fairly simple stop.

The home side try and inventive short-corner routine that ends at the feet of Kluivert. The Dutchman whips tamely from the edge of the box, however, and Fabianski makes a routine save.

EFFORT! A sweeping Bournemouth move ends with Kerkez finding Ouattara. The winger cuts inside and thunders a right-footed strike just wide to Fabianski's left. A slight deflection off Coufal keeps it out the corner, and West Ham survive an early scare in the second half.

Bournemouth are still the favourites to win, according to Opta's live predictions, with the hosts offered a 47.2% chance of victory. That is far greater than West Ham's 21.9%, which is some way behind the 30.9% likelihood of a draw. The visitors have accumulated 0.84 expected goals (xG) to the home side's 0.69, though, suggesting Lopetegui's side just edged that first half. Iraola will be desperate for a much-improved performance in the next period.

The two sides remain goalless at the break but West Ham, perhaps unexpectedly, shaded the first half against hosts Bournemouth. Bowen hit the crossbar with a delightful effort, while Soler and Soucek both went close to breaking the deadlock. Semenyo was denied by the woodwork at the other end, however, before Ouattara spurned a glorious chance on the stroke of half-time.
