However, the delay in the transfer has left David Moyes and his team scrambling for replacements. Although Edson Alvarez has signed for the Hammers, the club are still waiting to secure further deals for James Ward-Prowse and Harry Maguire among others. West Ham enjoyed a successful end to last season by winning the Europa Conference League, but Moyes will be eyeing an improvement on their 14th-place finish in the top flight last term.

However, the club's hierarchy have moved in a new direction in the off-season and the Cherries have been active in the transfer market, bolstering their ranks with rising talents Max Aarons, Milos Kerkez and Alex Scott along with Justin Kluivert, Romain Faivre and Hamed Traore on a permanent deal.
