AFC Bournemouth vs Newcastle United LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction
Bourneouth 1-1 Newcastle: Miguel Almiron snatched a draw for the Magpies
Miguel Almiron’s 10th goal of the season and a late goal-line clearance by Kieran Trippier ensured Newcastle boss Eddie Howe claimed a point on his Bournemouth return but only after a potentially costly 1-1 draw.
Marcos Senesi poked the struggling Cherries ahead and while Almiron levelled by half-time, the Magpies could not arrest their stuttering form and slumped to a fifth draw from their last six Premier League fixtures.
It may have been worse had Trippier not denied Dominic Solanke’s goalbound flick on the verge of full-time and that ensured the visitors extended their unbeaten top-flight run to 17 matches but injuries to Joe Willock, Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin will be a major concern to Howe with the Carabao Cup final only two weeks away.

Eddie Howe will be delighted to enter the break with the scores level. Newcastle have been off the pace in the contest and were lacking a spark in the final third before Almiron's leveller. The Magpies have a huge chance to open up a lead from Tottenham in fifth place with a victory today, which could be huge in the race for the Champions League.

It's all square at the break between Bournemouth and Newcastle at the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries took the lead through Marcos Senesi as he scored at the back post from a corner. However, the Magpies responded just before the break when Miguel Almiron converted on the rebound after Sean Longstaff's strike was saved. The contest remains in the balance at the interval.

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! ALMIRON EQUALISES FOR NEWCASTLE!!!!! 1-1!!!!!! Almiron scores on the rebound to equalise before the interval. Saint-Maximin starts the move as he bursts in from the left flank and offloads to Longstaff on the charge. He shoots low and hard on his left foot, forcing Neto into a fine stop. Almiron is there to pounce on the rebound and places his effort away from the keeper into the bottom-left corner. A huge goal for the Magpies.
