Bournemouth’s prospective new owner Bill Foley watched from the stands as the club mounted a dramatic second-half comeback to stun lowly Leicester City with a 2-1 Premier League win.

Foley’s planned £120million takeover of the Cherries on Saturday moved a step closer to completion after he agreed terms with current owner Maxim Denim.

And the American businessman was able to toast the deal with success on the field thanks to quick-fire goals from Philip Billing and Ryan Christie in a remarkable five-minute spell.

In-form Patson Daka had looked set to spoil the occasion for the south-coast side by firing the struggling Foxes into a 10th-minute lead at Vitality Stadium.

Yet Brendan Rodgers’ visitors paid a heavy price for a string of defensive errors and opting to drop deep as they blew the chance to move out of the relegation zone.

Bournemouth started on the front foot and looked more likely to take the lead but it was Leicester who went in front in the 10th minute after Daka was quickest to react following a rebound from Barnes' effort, and the striker scored well on the swivel. The second half was dominated by the hosts and Billing equalised in the 68th minute when he rebounded home after Solanke's brilliant run and shot. Solanke was also the provider for Bournemouth's winner after he knocked the ball down into the path of Christie, who poked it past Ward to make it 2-1. Anthony thought he got a third for the Cherries in added time but it was disallowed for offside.
