This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Sterling makes a brilliant run down the right, but can't pick out a team-mate with his cross. Chelsea keep it alive through Gusto though as he fires a cross at Jackson. His first touch is poor, but he still manages a volley on goal, which Kelly blocks.

Bournemouth are growing into the game now, and their pressure is starting to cause Chelsea some problems. Jackson drops deep to get on the ball, only to be dispossessed by Tavernier, who then wins another free-kick.

GREAT SAVE! Bournemouth win a free-kick on the right which is taken quickly to Christie as he darts into the box. He fizzes it to the far post where Ouattara has a free run, but Sanchez gets down to smother his first-time shot.

Mudryk wins a corner, which he then takes short, playing a one-two with Ugochukwu before swinging in a cross. It takes a big deflection off Christie which has Neto scrambling, but it lands on the roof of the net.

Chelsea are still dominating possession here, and Bournemouth just can't get close to them. They're trying to press high upfield, but it's not deterring Chelsea from their patient play.

OFF THE POST! Mudryk plays a one-two with Jackson on the left, before deciding against having a run and teeing up the forward for a shot. He takes it from the edge of the box and it bounces off the bottom of the near post, much to Neto's relief.

Gallagher cuts inside from the right before playing a lovely reverse pass through to Sterling in pace. It looked like he was going to shoot, but he drags it along the edge of the six-yard box, and none of the Chelsea players get a touch.
