This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Again, Chelsea surge forward on the break and Ugochukwu slides it through to Jackson on the left of the box. He loses his bearings for a moment and slices a shot well wide of the near post.

Bournemouth commit a lot of bodies forward in attack, which allows Chelsea to quickly counter. Colwill carries it to the edge of the box before squaring it to Jackson, but Billing sticks out a leg to stop it from reaching him.

NO GOAL! Sterling steps up to take a free-kick right outside the box, and he curls it to the far top corner. It rattles the underside of the crossbar and bounces off the line and back out to Colwill. He slots in from close range, but the flag goes up to deny him a first Chelsea goal.

It's Chelsea with all of the early possession in the second half, and Colwill sends it down the left for Fernandez to chase. He knocks it past Aarons, but can't get around the defender himself.

In some ways, it's the same old problem for Chelsea. They're playing well and getting into good positions, but they're just lacking that clinical edge in front of goal, which is something Pochettino will be asking them to improve on. Despite a slow start, Bournemouth have done well, and do look like they can cause Chelsea some problems when they do get forward.

It's goalless at the break between Bournemouth and Chelsea. Both sides created some good chances in the first half, with Jackson striking the bottom of the post and Gallagher forcing a good reflex save out of Neto for the visitors. It took Bournemouth a while to grow into the game, but their best chance was actually the first one they created, with Ouattara seeing a shot smothered by Sanchez at the far post.

The visitors are looking to finish this half on a high. They're keeping Bournemouth penned back deep in their own half as they try to find an opening, but there's no way through at the moment.
