At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Can Eoin Morgan's men stop the tournament's most impressive side in their tracks?

England haven't exactly pulled up many trees in India so far but, aside from that opening defeat against West Indies, they've consistently found a way to win.Join Jack de Menezes(@JackdeMenezes) from 2.00pm for coverage.

What do England need to do to overcome the WorldT20's only unbeaten team?

The Independent's cricket correspondent Stephen Brenkley has the answer...

Stop Martin GuptillThe man from Auckland is a  Twenty20 opener for the age and his bristling starts give the Kiwis an early surge.

Handle the spinMitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi have come from nowhere to be revelations. If they dominate the middle overs England are in trouble.

Take every half chanceEngland’s fielding has been mercurial. They need one of their good days. Sloppiness will be fatal to their cause.

The question for many English fans will be which side will turn up today? It was the batting line-up who stood out in the defeat by the West Indies and victory over South Africa,, while the top order had the bowlers to thank for the avoiding a potential upset against Afghanistan and saw off the threat of Sri Lanka. If both aspects can click, they may just stand a good chance of seeing off New Zealand today.

Out come the two teams as the pyrotechnics go off around them. Time for the national anthems, led by God Defend New Zealand before God Save The Queen. A lot of work for the big man this afternoon...

So here we go then. It'll be Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson to open the batting for New Zealand, while England will look to David Willey for an early breakthrough with the ball.

11-0 - Guptill 10 Williamson 1What a start from Guptill. Willey sends his first ball of the innings short and wide of off-stump and Guptill thumps it for four. Willey responds with an inswinger and whacks Guptill on the front pad - a good response - and hegoes up in appeal. The umpire says no, much to his displeasure. Guptill then tries to steal a single and he's struggling...but Morgan can't pick the ball up as he dives for the stumps and the batsman is save. That brings Williamson on strike, and he's immediately off the mark with an easy single. Guptill ends the over as he started it, as he hits a wide delivery to the offside for four, before picking up a single off the final ball. A good start for the Kiwis.

Hawkeye confirms that Willey's appeal did pitch inline, but was going down leg.
