Your support makes all the difference.Pat Cummins became the most expensive overseas purchase in Indian Premier League (IPL) history as the Kolkata Knight Riders spent more than £1.6 million on the Australian fast bowler in the 2020 IPL Auction.
England limited overs captain Eoin Morgan was also bought by the Knight Riders, while there was also a big deal for all-rounder Sam Curran, who was bought by the Chennai Super Kings.
Australian superstar Glenn Maxwell, seam-bowling all-rounder Chris Morris of South Africa and West Indian left-arm fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell were three of the other marquee purchases as a number of high-profile names went under the hammer at the showpiece event in Kolkata.
Morgan will be joined at the Knight Riders by budding star Tom Banton, with the Somerset opening batsman set to get a first taste of T20 cricket’s premier franchise competition in 2020 after receiving a £110k deal.
Chris Jordan, Tom Curran, Chris Woakes and Jason Roy were also purchased in the auction, taking the English contingent in next year’s competition to 13. Harry Gurney, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler were all retained by their teams before the auction.

A bit of post-auction news for you - KL Rahul will captain the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL in 2020. He replaces Ravi Ashwin, and will work under new head coach and Indian spinning legend Anil Kumble. Wasim Jaffer has also been confirmed as the franchise's lead batting coach.
Right. That concludes all our auction business for the day, so let's finish things off with a rundown of how the eight teams stack up heading into the 2020 IPL season...
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Typically packed with power at the top of the order, RCB added Aaron Finch to their strong batting corps, with the Australian adding extra explosion to a top four that will also include Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers. They also splashed the cash on Chris Morris, with the South African all-rounder adding skills at the death with both ball and bat.
Kane Richardson, Isuru Udana and Dale Steyn add real depth to the overseas bowling ranks, while it'll be a largely familiar domestic spine of the side, with power-hitting from Shivam Dube, the leg-spin wiles of Yuzvendra Chahal and pace of Navdeep Saini giving RCB a complete look. Could 2020 finally be their year?
Potential XI: Aaron Finch, Parthiv Patel (wk), Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Chris Morris, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal.
Bench depth includes: Kane Richardson, Pawan Negi, Washington Sundar, Dale Steyn, Isuru Udana.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Built similarly to last year, the Knight Riders are now guided by Brendon McCullum, who began by picking up a good friend and mentee, with Eoin Morgan Kolkata's first purchase of the auction. They followed up the addition of Morgan with the day's biggest buy, bringing in Pat Cummins as a marquee fast bowler around which their bowling attack could be sculpted.
With two of the best T20 all-rounders in Andre Russell and Suni Narine in situ, it is a strong overseas quartet with which McCullum can work, while captain Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav are two of India's best white-ball cricketers. The promise of potential from Shivam Mavi, Shubman Gill and Varun Chakravathy completes the squad of a side that looks likely to challenge again in 2020.
Potential XI: Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Eoin Morgan, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (c/wk), Andre Russell, Varun Chakravathy, Pat Cummins, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna.
Bench depth includes: Shivam Mavi, Rahul Tripathi, Lockie Ferguson, Tom Banton, Chris Green, Pravin Tambe.
Kings XI Punjab
With a new captain and coach for 2020, Kings XI are likely to look rather different next year. New coach Anil Kumble grabbed a superstar batsman and bowler to build his side around, with old favourite Glenn Maxwell brought back to Punjab and Sheldon Cottrell ready to provide left-arm swing and skill after a breakthrough year. The West Indian will join Mohammed Shami in the pace attack, while Krishnappa Gowtham has arrived to add lower middle order hitting and off-spin to a team likely to be built for decks that turn.
Mujeeb's mystery should earn him one of the remaining overseas slots in the lineup, and there is a choice to be made between two West Indians - budding star Nicholas Pooran in the middle order or fading force Chris Gayle at the top?
Potential XI: Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (c), Glenn Maxwell, Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Deepak Hooda, Krishnappa Gowtham, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Sheldon Cottrell, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
Bench depth includes: Chris Jordan, Hardus Viljoen, Chris Gayle, Jimmy Neesham, Ravi Bishnoi, Sarfaraz Khan.
Chennai Super Kings
Another relatively quiet auction for a team that places so much faith in consistency and continuity, with the old guard ready to do battle again under Stephen Fleming. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravi Jadeja, Imran Tahir, Faf Du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo - it's the same old core in Chennai.
Sam Curran does come in as another all-round option with which to play, particularly away from the spin-friendly Chepauk surface, but it is likely to the tweakers and twirlers that CSK will pin their hopes, with another golden oldie in Piyush Chawla also procured.
Potential XI: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (c/wk), Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir.
Bench depth includes: Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma, Lungi Ngidi, Mitchell Santner, Murali Vijay, Josh Hazlewood, Sam Curran.
Delhi Capitals
One of the most exciting teams in the league last time around, the offseason additions of Ajinkya Rahane and Ravi Ashwin added experience to a young Indian spine of considerable ability at Delhi. Their auction business was thus skewed towards overseas additions, with Ricky Ponting keen to get more from his overseas stars and complement the Capitals' domestic strength.
Shimron Hetmyer should dovetail nicely with Rishabh Pant in a power-packed middle order, while Chris Woakes and Marcus Stoinis will compete for an all-rounder's slot with Keemo Paul, with the trio offering different skills and allowing Delhi to be adaptable. The spin attack should be strong again, and Jason Roy and Alex Carey further bolster the opening options in a side with plenty of batting strength.
Potential XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravi Ashwin, Chris Woakes, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Sandeep Lamichhane.
Bench depth includes: Axar Patel, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Jason Roy, Avesh Khan, Keemo Paul.
Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan underwent a soft remodeling during the offseason, jettisoning former captain Ajinkya Rahane to Delhi and adding Ankit Rajpoot, Rahul Tewatia and leg-spinner Mayank Markande to their squad. Looking to improve their domestic crop around four first-rate overseas superstars, new coach Andrew McDonald had a busy auction without breaking the bank for any one player.
The four pillars remain the same - Buttler, Smith, Stokes, Archer - while Jaydev Unadkat was also brought back at a lower price. Robin Uthappa arrives to add top order depth, while the pickup of precocious all-rounder Yashasvi Jaiswal is an exciting one. With Sanju Samson ready to push for higher honours again int the top order and Tom Curran and David Miller a pair of canny purchases to build the bench.
Potential XI: Jos Buttler (wk), Robin Uthappa, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith (c), Ben Stokes, Yashavsi Jaiswal, Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer, Varun Aaron, Mayank Markande, Jaydev Unadkat.
Bench depth includes: Rahul Tewatia, Ankit Rajpoot, AJ Tye, Tom Curran, David Miller, Oshane Tomas, Manan Vohra.
Mumbai Indians
Champions in 2019, Mumbai were largely content to stand pat and look for key contributors in the auction. Boosted by the arrivals of Trent Boult and Sherfane Rutherford to add depth to their overseas ranks, Nathan Coulter-Nile was their major addition, with the Aussie quick set to be paired with the ageing legs of Lasith Malinga in leading the pace attack, with Boult and Mitch McClenaghan likely squeezed out.
Otherwise it is largely as you were, with Chris Lynn almost certain to back up Quinton de Kock at the top of the order, and the trio of all-rounders in the engine room - the Pandya brothers and Kieron Pollard - still as strong as any in the competition. Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar was a real find with the ball last year, and Jasprit Bumrah's talents need no introduction.
Potential XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga.
Bench depth includes: Chris Lynn, Trent Boult, Sherfane Rutherford, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jayant Yadav.
