England maintained their 100 per cent record in the tournament, having seen off the West Indies, Bangladesh and Australia in a dominant start, with a superb 26-run win in Sharjah.
Opener Jos Buttler was the star of the show last time out against Australia and went one better this time around with an unbeaten 101, a first international T20 century.
Assisted by 40 from skipper Eoin Morgan, England posted 163 from their 20 before two wickets from Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan eventually saw Sri Lanka fall 26 runs short despite a dogged chase.
The win leaves England all but into the semi-finals ahead of their final Super 12 match, against South Africa on Saturday.

Shanaka struggled against Buttler in the 18th over.
Buttler continued his fabulous form as he hit another two sixes he continued to add to his tally.
He had a four, single and another single with the last three balls of the over. Sensational from him.
Morgan 34 from34 and Buttler 86 from 59.

Chameera came back in for the 17th and Morgan hits a huge six. What a hit! 90m into the stands and England are firing now.
A single handed the batting back to Buttler and he forced Chameera into a no ball. Fernando did extremely well to stop the ball hitting the boundary.
Another impressive over from England who are finishing their innings strongly.

Sri Lanka brought Shanaka in to try and stop England’s charge in the last five overs.
He started well with Morgan having a dot in the first ball. A single, two, single and single came next.
England slowed in the 16th over with Shanaka more unpredictable than his team-mates. But momentum feels like it’s in their pocket still.

Kumara stepped up for the 15th over and Morgan read the bowler incredibly well with a superb six.
Buttler then collected two sixes as his partnership with Morgan started to piece together.
Both added a few singles to send England into 100 runs in the 15th.
After an underwhelming opening 10 overs, England are stating to come alive and are right back in this.

Just as England were getting back on track Hasaranga came up to bowl - Sri Lanka’s most impressive bowler with two wickets in the match so far.
Buttler played the first ball safely, collecting a single. Captain Morgan picked up a single too.
The talisman gets another single and then a poor delivery from Hasaranga sees the Englishman take four. Morgan picked up another single.
Buttler has now got over 50 runs in a decent innings so far.

Karunaratne was outplayed by Buttler who hit a single, four and then a six.
The star got into his stride just when England needed him to and he didn’t stop there.
A two and a single saw England’s best over in the match so far.

Theekshana came back in for the 12th and he read Buttler well to dot from the first and second balls.
The England talisman then hit a single and hearts were in mouths as Morgan almost fell.
Theekshana has grown into this match with just two singles coming from the 12th over.

Buttler got England’s fortunes back on track as he recorded four, two, two, single and a single with Morgan adding a single from Kumara’s six balls.
Buttler did extremely well to get back as Sri Lanka looked to get him out.
He hasn’t been as impressive as he was against Australia but he is still the standout for England so far.

Are the conditions the difference here? Sri Lanka have played two matches at the ground with England not playing yet.
Theekshana continued his side’s good form in then tenth with Morgan hitting two singles and Buttler having just a single.
They are halfway through their overs and they need to ramp up some scores to make their bowling easier!
