Jake Paul mocks KSI after loss to Tommy Fury

KSI and Tommy Fury squared off in the boxing ring in a poorly executed contest defined by clinching and wild swinging. Fury, so composed in his win over Jake Paul earlier this year, seemed to want to match the unorthodox style of KSI but found himself confused as to how to tackle the fight.

A points deduction in the second round further put Fury on the back foot only for him to find a bit of momentum in the third round. The fight seemed even throughout with KSI’s corner adamant that he was in front on the cards. When the decision was announced in Fury’s favour, KSI was shocked and labelled the decision a ‘robbery; in his post-match interview causing Fury to brand him a ‘bad loser.

Moments before their encounter Logan Paul and Dillon Danis’ co-main event developed into a brawl that forced security to intervene.

Danis, who twice tried to choke out and wrestle Paul to the ground, was issued a disqualification after six rounds in which Paul dominated from start to finish. Months of bad blood between the two men came to a head as Paul remained composed and collected utilising a mix of jabs and heavy hooks to unsettle the former MMA fighter whose main goal was to avoid a knockout.

The scenes at the end of the fight led to Paul branding Danis a ‘coward’ and a joke of a fighter before he left the stage with the British crowd chanting his name.

Who is Dillon Danis: Logan Paul’s opponent who threatened to cancel fight?

Dillon Danis will box Logan Paul in Manchester this weekend, on the same card that pits KSI against Tommy Fury. But just who is Danis?

The American, 30, has never competed in a boxing match before, with his experience instead coming in jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts.

However, Danis has not fought in MMA in four years, and he only has two professional bouts to his name. Danis did win both via first-round submission, though his latter opponent – Max Humphrey – went 3-3 with his loss to Danis and has not competed since. Meanwhile, Danis’s first opponent – Kyle Walker (not to be confused with the Premier League footballer) – fell to 2-5 by losing to Danis. Walker has also not fought since.

Danis’s MMA bouts took place in the welterweight division of Bellator, where he received a spotlight because of his place in Conor McGregor’s team.

Tommy Fury posts nine-week body transformation as he goads fight rival KSI

Tommy Fury has posted pictures of a dramatic nine-week transformation in his physique ahead of his showdown with KSI on Saturday night.

Fury put up two pictures side by side, the latter showing rippling muscles just days away from the fight.

“A 9 week transformation…” he captioned the before-and-after pictures. “One thing about me, I don’t cut corners. Ever.”

Fury has said this week that he “could not live with himself” if he did not fight for a world title at some point in his career – but acknowledged Saturday’s bout with YouTuber KSI is a long way from that.

Boxing: KSI and Tommy Fury attempt to smash partition during heated clash

KSI and Tommy Fury furiously clashed ahead of their six-round cruiserweight fight at Manchester’s AO Arena.

Fury, 24, and KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka, both attempted to smash a plastic partition separating the pair during their official weigh-in.

Footage captures the moment KSI, 30, and Fury began pounding on the glass as they shouted obscenities at each other.

Security guards standing nearby watch on as Fury repeatedly punches the partition with both hands.

While the pair continue to rile each other up, KSI shouts: “It is over, it is over,” with Fury responding: “24 hours, 24 hours”.

Who is KSI? From ‘endearing’ class clown to YouTuber who has changed the face of boxing

efore KSI, there was Olajide Olatunji – “JJ” for short. Before the YouTuber, gamer, rapper, boxer, promoter and energy drink magnate, there was the affable class clown in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

“I remember we did a production of Sweeney Todd,” one of his schoolmates tells The Independent. “He played the judge, and when he died at the end, he was twitching and doing the worm across the stage. Everyone was in stitches. He was funny, a nice guy – everybody liked him for that. He was popular, but not like, ‘I’m the s***’; he was confident but also a nerdy, endearing, sweet guy.”

With those qualities, JJ was tailor made for YouTube, where he launched his channel ‘KSIOlajideBT’ in 2009 – four years after the platform’s inception. Fifteen years old at the time, JJ quickly garnered a following by filming himself playing Fifa – the famous football video game – at his parents’ house in Watford. His bewitching cackle was a key feature in each upload. “He always had that very distinctive laugh,” his schoolmate recalls. “I remember that. He would laugh at something during morning registration, and the teachers would be like, ‘JJ, please!’”

Tommy Fury teaches purists valuable lesson – outrage over KSI fight is just jealousy

Tommy Fury is a poster boy, KSI is an influencer and thankfully at about 10pm on Saturday they will just be a pair of topless boxers making millions in the ring.

Welcome to the world of crossover boxing, dominated by a very slick outfit called Misfits, and a realm where Fury and KSI are kings of the very strange boxing land.

Fury, the brother of Tyson, the world heavyweight champion, is unbeaten in nine fights on the legitimate boxing circuit; KSI is behind the drink Prime, he has a zillion followers across his social media platforms and he has fought just once in a sanctioned boxing match.

And yes, that means they are both novices. On Saturday night, in front of a capacity crowd of just under 20,000 they fight six rounds at a weight limit set at 183lbs for bragging rights. They are, strangely, evenly matched in many ways. Obviously, the boxing purists are outraged that two novices are making millions and millions from their fight.
