Guy Ritchie-directed trailer for Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois is released

Anthony Joshua will box Daniel Dubois in an all-British heavyweight title fight tonight, with a domestic-record crowd expected to fill out Wembley Stadium.

It is believed that 96,000 fans will be present to see Joshua challenge Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title, as “AJ” bids to become a three-time world champion.

The 34-year-old lost the unified belts to Oleksandr Usyk on points in 2021 and failed to regain them in a rematch in 2022, but he has since won four straight fights. That run consisted of a decision victory over Jermaine Franklin plus knockouts of Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and – most recently – UFC star Francis Ngannou in March.

Meanwhile, Dubois also failed to overcome Usyk, losing to the Ukrainian via stoppage last year, before Usyk became undisputed champion against Tyson Fury in May. Since then, however, Dubois has stopped Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic, with his win over the latter bringing the interim IBF title.

Dubois, 27, was then elevated to regular champion when Usyk vacated the official belt. And tonight’s winner at Wembley could get a shot at redemption against Usyk, if the unbeaten southpaw defeats Fury again in December.

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE: Padley derails Chamberlain hype train

Round nine

Bad to worse for Chamberlain as he suffers a points deduction midway through the ninth. It seems to anger him and he immediately takes out his frustrating on his opponent, connecting with a couple decent shots - but Padley is standing strong.

Padley beautifully slips a jab to see out the penultimate round. Three more minutes.

Round ten

You have to think Chamberlain needs at least a knockdown here to spare his blushes as his biggest fan sits on at ringside.

Chamberlain is throwing everything Padley’s way but is being further frustrated by his fluids as his cut reopens and blood drips into his eye.

The bell rings and both men have their hands in the air. That said, Padley’s corner are celebrating considerably more than Chamberlain’s.

What a start to the night. We go to a decision...

Josh Padley def. Mark Chamberlain by unanimous decision (95-93, 96-92, 96-92)

The man who plies his trade in construction by day has just handed one of Britain’s most highly-touted boxing prospects his first ever defeat - and he’s done it at Wembley Stadium. The stuff dreams are made of.

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE: Chamberlain knocked down!

Round seven

Chamberlain knows he needs to find something here and he’s begin to threaten that bit more. Really nice one-two as he snipes Padley with a left, but Padley eats it up and gets to the end of the seventh relatively unscathed.

Round eight

Padley is not fading in the slightest - he just won’t stop moving. Even when he gets caught with something significant, he’s getting out of dodge and not allowing Chamberlain to gain momentum.

It seems like Chamberlain is nevertheless on the front foot in these final rounds, but then KNOCKDOWN - and it’s the favourite that’s on the canvas!

Padley connects with stiff left to leave Chamberlain on his backside. He gets up quickly and shakes it off, but who would have thought this? One of Britain’s most hyped prospects could be on the verge of a SHOCK defeat.

Pre-fight talk from Dubois

Daniel Dubois stopped by Sky Sports in the build up to this fight and made his intentions for Anthony Joshua very clear.

He said: “I aim to knock him out. That’s the programme. That’s the mindset, that’s the intention coming into this fight. I’m going to focus my whole life into destroying it and just being a good destroyer, a good conqueror.

“Don’t wait. Go out there. Smash him.

“Go through them. Go through whatever I have to go through… No retreat, no surrender. And go out there and perform like a warrior.”

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE: BIG shot from Padley

Round five

Padley connects FLUSH with an overhand left as he’s pressed against the ropes in what is the most significant strike of the bout so far.

This is not going to plan for Chamberlain.

Round six

Chamberlain needed a wake up call and that left in the last round seems to have been just that. Far sharper in the sixth and he’s putting Padley under pressure.

Some stiff shots in and out of the clinch, but Padley is also connecting. The underdog’s corner is pushing their man on.

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE: Padley loving life on the bigger stage

Round three

Padley is connecting and it’s showing - Chamberlain’s got a cut on the bridge of his nose. Luckily, the blood is trickling down his nose rather than into his eye, but the favourite is nevertheless frustrated.

A couple of stiff shots from Padley as the pair get tied up. The Doncaster boy is finding joy with his right hook.

Round four

Padley is doing exactly what he’s got to do. He’s picking his moments well, he’s been quick on his feet and most importantly, he’s stayed out of trouble. We know how hard Chamberlain can hit and as of yet, Padley hasn’t been hurt.

Chamberlain has now picked up another cut on the other side of his right eye, with his brow now subject to a blood sandwich. Nice couple body shots towards the end of the round from Chamberlain before clipping with an uppercut.

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE: Padley starts well but Chamberlain growing in confidence

Round one

Padley confusing Chamberlain, showing off a good variety of strikes and seeing success with the level changes.

A good start from the underdog.

Round two

Chamberlain getting on the front foot and working well with the jab, forcing Padley into the ropes. Padley is fighting back and has a lot of body to aim at.

Padley still finding some success but Chamberlain has been a lot more physical in the second. The corner have asked for more aggression for Turki’s darling boy and they’ve got that.

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE: Moments away from Wembley curtain raiser

We’re just moments from the first bout of the undercard as Mark Chamberlain locks horns with Josh Padley.

A battle of two unbeaten prospects, Chamberlain is the golden child of boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh and has won his last two fights in Saudi Arabia by stoppage.

The doors have only just opened at Wembley - it’s closer to 96 fans currently in attendance rather than the estimated 96,000 that will pack the stands in about five hours from now.

Joshua Buatsi on friendship with Anthony Joshua: ‘Fight days aren’t for chatting to each other’

When Joshua Buatsi arrives at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, there will be no seeking out familiar faces – not even a face as familiar as Anthony Joshua’s.

And to Buatsi, Joshua’s face is even more familiar than it is to the average boxing fan. The two Joshuas have been good friends for years, and Saturday will mark the fourth time they have shared a fight card. In 2017 and 2018, Buatsi competed on the undercard of “AJ”’s victories over Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. In 2019, Buatsi was there at Madison Square Garden to do a job when Joshua, for the first time in his professional career, failed to do his own and lost to Andy Ruiz Jr.

This evening, Buatsi will be there again, facing Willy Hutchinson at Wembley before Joshua headlines against Daniel Dubois, the reigning IBF heavyweight champion.

Andy Ruiz defeat made me ‘mentally strong’, says Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua insists his shock defeat by Andy Ruiz has forged the mindset that will enable him to become a three-time world heavyweight champion at Wembley on Saturday.

Joshua challenges for Daniel Dubois’ IBF belt knowing victory would complete a period of rebuilding after losses to Ruiz in 2019 and then twice to Oleksandr Usyk left his career on the brink.

Now riding a five-fight winning streak, the 34-year-old from Watford views the seismic upset in New York as a seminal moment.
