From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jr have ramped up the fighting talk for one final time in the last fight press conference.
DeGale, who recaptured his IBF super-middleweight world title in a rematch with Caleb Truax last April, relinquished his belt to take on Eubank and the 2008 Olympic gold medallist has vowed to retire if he loses the fight. Eubank Jr has only fought once since losing to George Groves in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series, stopping JJ McDonagh in Saudi Arabia. The two finally meet at the O2 on Saturday night.
Here's how it played out:

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of the final press conference ahead of James DeGale vs Chris Eubank Jr.
The two fighters will talk the talk one final time before they walk the walk this Saturday night.
And we'll have all the latest for you right here.
DeGale has dubbed this bout his 'retirement fight'.
33-year-old former two-time Super Middleweight World Champion DeGale claims he will "retire" Eubank Jr.
DeGale vs Eubank Jr begins at 7pm Saturday on ITV Box Office and can be purchased for £19.95
Eubank Jr's new trainer Nate Vazquez has seen his father take a back seat for the first time in Jr's career.
“I went out to Las Vegas in the summer and met Nate,” Eubank said. “We just clicked.
“I liked how he trained me, his boxing mentality, the things he was saying and doing with me. He's not some guy who's trained a million world champions but he's trained a few good guys.
“It just worked for me. I brought him over to England, he's been living with me and we've been very specific in our training for James, which is something I've never really done before."
Whilst we wait for the conference to begin, have a look at the soldier turned boxer debuting on the DeGale vs Eubank undercard.
Both fighters now on stage as PBC introduce the conference.
PBC say, "this is as big a fight" as could be.
