Trump struggles with series of words

Donald Trump was called out for his “totally inappropriate” tweets by the judge presiding over Roger Stone’s trial as she handed down a 40-month sentence for the president’s longtime friend, saying his crimes should cause universal “dismay and disgust”.

The comments came just before he took to the stage in Colorado Springs for a "Keep America Great Again" rally, as a part of a string of events he is doing this week across the country.

Colorado stands out as an important battleground state this year, with the Republican Senate majority potentially on the line as GOP senator Cory Gardner faces stiff competition in his reelection campaign.

The president has meanwhile been live-tweeting attacks towards his Democratic 2020 rivals after the latest debates, as well as deriding them on the campaign trail in at an Arizona rally where he also called the FBI “dishonest scum” and complained that Conan, the US military’s war hero dog, “got more publicity” than him over the killing of Isis leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Mr Trump’s rally coincided with the latest primary debate in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Michael Bloomberg was attacked from all sides, with Elizabeth Warren characterising him as a “a billionaire who calls women fat broads and horse-faced lesbians”.

Animal rights groups have condemned a 'protest' group that glued miniature red "Make America Great Again" caps to a flock of pigeons and released them above Las Vegas ahead of the democratic debate in Nevada. One pigeon among them wore a blonde combover wig, the Donald Trump among his red-topped supporters.

PUTIN, an acronym for Pigeons United To Interfere Now, told local news outlets in Nevada that the latest bird release was an "aerial protest piece" as six Democratic presidential candidates were set to take the debate stage on Wednesday.

Bloomberg has given at least $463.8 million to his own campaign, according to Federal Election Commission data through February.

The businessman and former mayor — estimated to have a net worth around $65 billion — has spent a fair amount of it as well, with $220 million spent in January alone, a figure that breaks down to roughly $7.1 million spent a day,  $4,942 spent per minute and $82.37 spent per second.

Bloomberg has not yet been on the ballot in any of the states that have voted thus far, and has instead focused on a showing in Super Tuesday states, which will vote in early March. It's a gamble that has not paid out in recent memory, but one that is at least somewhat plausible given the billionaire's seeming endless well of financial resources.

Donald Trump should be, at this moment, in the air on his way from Las Vegas to Colorado Springs, where he is set to hold one of his Make America Great Again rallies.

Just moments ago he posted this thank you for his time in Nevada:

During last night's debate, Twitter was full of cheering for Elizabeth Warren, as she slammed Michael Bloomberg repeatedly on stage for a national audience.

Apparently she enjoyed the exchange as well.

"Last night was a lot of fun," she said during her first campaign stop post-debate in north Las Vegas on Thursday morning.

We're around 50 minutes away from Donald Trump's rally in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Colorado stands out as a potential swing state, with the Senate race there of particular interest as Republican Cory Gardner hopes to keep his seat in what is likely to be a heated battle against former governor John Hickenlooper.

Hickenlooper previously mounted a run for the 2020 Democratic nomination, but dropped out before any votes were cast.

Right now as Colorado Springs awaits Trump, vice president Mike Pence is up praising him.
