Your support helps us to tell the story
My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.
Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Donald Trump is being mocked online for suggesting a concept to tackle crime that mirrors the horror movie franchise The Purge.
In a wild rally speech in Pennsylvania on Sunday, the former president proposed “one really violent day” could put an end to crime across the US: “One rough hour and I mean real rough, the word will get out and it will end immediately.”
During the rambling speech, Trump also admitted he “hated” paying workers overtime at his businesses – and would replace workers who asked for it. “I shouldn’t say this,” he admitted.
Kamala Harris’s campaign quickly seized on the comments, branding Trump a “scab.”
“Donald Trump is finally owning up to it: He’s built an entire career on screwing over workers. It’s exactly what he did in the White House.... and exactly what he plans to do in a second term,” a spokesperson said.
This comes as Trump is facing backlash from Republicans and disability advocacy groups for calling Harris “mentally disabled” at a campaign event on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tim Walz and JD Vance are preparing to go head-to-head in the vice presidential debate on Tuesday.
Shazam! star Zachary Levi endorses Donald Trump after RFK Jr suspends campaign
Shazam! star Zachary Levi has endorsed Republican candidate Donald Trump for president after his first choice, Robert F Kennedy Jr, dropped out of the race last month.
The DC actor appeared at a Donald Trump rally in Michigan on Saturday to throw his support behind the former president.
“I’m not gonna take too much time, but I did just wanna just give you a little context about why Shazam is sitting here talking to you about these various things,” said Levi, referencing his superhero character.
“We’re here to make sure that we are going to take back this country, we are going to make it great again, we are going to make it healthy again. And so, I stand with Bobby, and I stand with Tulsi, and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. Because I do believe, of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, Donald Trump, President Trump is the man that can get us there. And he’s gonna get us there because he’s gonna have the backing and the support and the wisdom and the knowledge and the fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr and former representative Tulsi Gabbard.”
Kennedy suspended his campaign last month, endorsing Trump and his running mate JD Vance.
Biden national security spokesman claims Netanyahu wants to avoid wider regional war
Joe Biden’s national security council spokesman claimed on Sunday that despite several rounds of Israeli bombings and attacks across Lebanon, Benjamin Netanyahu still supposedly opposes the escalation of the conflict against Hamas and Hezbollah into a wider regional war.
He also downplayed the reports of increasingly frayed ties between Washington and Jerusalem, which emerged in the wake of recent strikes including one that killed a senior Hezbollah commander, Hassan Nasrallah. The US president was reported to have been frustrated and caught off-guard in the wake of the strike, which he viewed as a humiliation of his top diplomat, Antony Blinken.

Jeff Flake endorses Kamala Harris as anti-Trump right coalesces
Kamala Harris on Sunday picked up the endorsement of another prominent opponent of Donald Trump within the Republican Party, a sign that the remaining “#NeverTrump” wing of the GOP is rallying behind her.
Jeff Flake, a former senator from Arizona who left Congress in 2019, issued his endorsement in a statement released on Twitter. He further explained his motivations in an interview Sunday on ABC’s This Week.
“I’ll be supporting Kamala Harris for President and Tim Walz for Vice President,” wrote Flake in the post accompanying his video message endorsement. “I’ve served with Kamala in the U.S Senate. I’ve also served with Tim in the House of Representatives.”
He added: “I know them. I know first of hand of their fine character and love of country. I would encourage all Republicans who feel this way to do the same.”

Republicans have pushed back on Trump’s ’mentally impaired’ rhetoric
Multiple members of the Republican Party have pushed back, or denounced, Donald Trump’s use of “mentally impaired” and “mentally disabled” to attack Vice President Kamala Harris.
On Saturday, Trump said in a rally speech, “Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala was born that way.”
“And if you think about it, only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country. Anybody would know this,” Trump added.
Less than 24 hours after, some Republicans distanced themselves from Trump’s rhetoric.
Minnesota Rep Tom Emmer responded to the comments by urging the former president to “stick to the issues”.
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham echoed that, telling CNN on Sunday that, “the better course to take is to prosecute the case that her policies are destroying the country.”
Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan called the remark “insulting not only to the vice president but to people who actually do have mental disabilities.”
Despite this, he repeated the “mentally impaired” claim during a rally on Sunday.
Trump delivers familiar rambling speech at Pennsylvania rally
Donald Trump delivered familiar, rambling lines to a crowd of supporters in Erie, Pennsylvania on Sunday, attacking Vice President Kamala Harris and asserting anti-immigration policies riddled with incorrect facts.
The former president once again called Harris “mentally impaired” and “stupid”, despite people rebuking Trump’s insensitive and ableist rhetoric.
But he continued to attack Harris and blame her for the influx of migrants – falsely asserting she was responsible for border security.
New Yorker endorses Harris
Vice President Kamala Harris picked up another endorsement from a media outlet on Sunday, this time by The New Yorker.
The legacy media outlet published a comment piece titled “Kamala Harris For President” in which they praised Harris for displaying “the basic values and political skills that enable her to help end, once and for all, a poisonous era defined by Donald Trump.”

Former President Donald Trump expressed his frustration over a fly that approached his lectern in a bizarre moment during a rally speech.

Donald Trump complains about media coverage
On Truth Social, Trump complained about Fox News “constantly” inviting “Liberal Democrats” onto their shows.
“CNN will not put on a Republican Conservative, nor will MSDNC. But Fox is constantly putting on Liberal Democrats to counter previous guests from the Right, thereby nullifying any message they may happen to give - The Fake News is already unfair enough to Republicans, we don’t need it from Fox, also,” he wrote on Truth Social.
Where are the candidates today?
The presidential campaigns are busy this Sunday, with both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris holding events.
Harris is attending a fundraiser in Los Angeles, California and delivering remarks and then will hold a rally in Las Vegas at 7:15 p.m. ET.
First Gentleman, Doug Emoff is in California and Oregon to deliver remarks at campaign receptions.
Trump is in Pennsylvania and will hold a rally in Erie at 2 p.m.
