Boris Johnson warned a Labour super-majority would be “pregnant with horrors” as he gave a surprise appearance at a Conservative Party rally on Tuesday.

Rishi Sunak’s predecessor took to the stage ahead of Thursday’s general election in a last-ditch attempt to gather support for the current Tory leader, who is thought to be on the verge of leading the party to its worst defeat in history according to polling for The Independent.

Mr Johnson accused Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer of trying to “usher in the most left-wing Labour government since the war”.

He told campaigners: “Don’t let the Putinistas deliver the Corbynistas. Don’t let Putin’s pet parrots give this entire country psittacosis – which is a disease you get by the way from cosying up to pet parrots.”

He added: “If you want uncontrolled immigration and mandatory wokery, and pointless kowtowing to Brussels again, then go right ahead, make my day, vote for Starmer.”

It came as the UK’s postal vote system is “creaking”, the chief of the election watchdog has said, as a “record” amount of postal votes are expected this year.

Rishi Sunak thanks Boris for his ‘great support’

“Isn’t it great to have our Conservative family united my friends?”, Rishi Sunak tells the crowd as Boris exits the stage.

He added: “Just think, just think, it was just the other day when Keir Starmer was saying that Jeremy Corbyn would have been a better prime minister than Boris.

“Shameful. Can you imagine what that would have meant for Ukraine? What it would have meant for our country’s security, our defence, the damage it would have done to our economy?”

He tells the packed room: “We have 48 hours to save Britain from the danger of a Labour government.”

Boris Johnson said ‘cocky’ Labour’s agenda to raise taxes and ‘wokery imposed on schools’

Boris Johnson thanked attendees for “coming so late, way past Keir Starmer’s bed time”.

“When Rishi asked me to come and help of course I couldn’t say no,” he continued.

“We’re all here because we love our country.”

He joked Sir Keir Starmer mouth opens like a “stunned mullet” on issues of sex and gender.

He called a gigantic Labour majority would be “pregnant with horrors”.

Mr Johnson told the audience a Labour government would increase taxes and would not stand up to Vladimir Putin.

“They will scrap the Rwanda plan,” he said before describing Labour MPs as “Kremlin crawlers”.

Farage amasses 39 billion video views as Reform dominates social media election battle

Nigel Farage and Reform have made the biggest splash on social media of any political party or politician this election.

The right-wing party and its leader have amassed more than 2.8 million reactions on Facebook since the start of the election, according to data analysed by Hootsuite, a social media analytics platform.

Mr Farage’s official Facebook page alone has garnered 2.1 million reactions and shares, with the Reform page taking 719,000. This marks by far the largest Facebook interaction rate for any party or politician.

Another Reform candidate defects to the Tories on dark day for Farage

Another one of Nigel Farage’s general election candidates has defected to the Conservatives after a series of Reform supporters were exposed as having racist and sexist views, Archie Mitchell reports.

Georgie David has suspended her support for Mr Farage’s Reform and stood down as the party’s candidate in West Ham and Beckton.

In another blow for the Reform leader, after a car-crash BBC interview by party chairman Richard Tice, Ms David attacked her fellow candidates as “racist, misogynistic, and bigoted”.

She said: “I do not wish to be directly associated with people who hold such views that are so vastly opposed to my own and what I stand for.

“I also have been significantly frustrated and dismayed by the failure of the Reform Party’s leadership to tackle this issue in any meaningful way, and their attempts to instead try to brush it under the carpet or cry foul play.”

She endorsed the Conservative Party and urged “all of my fellow patriots” to do the same.

Sunak poll bump ‘too little, too late’ as Tories face ‘devastating’ wipeout

Rishi Sunak is on the verge of leading the Tory party to the worst defeat in its 346-year history, according to a major poll for The Independent.

The Techne UK survey of 5,503 voters has given Labour a 19-point lead at 40 percent – almost twice the Tories’ 21 per cent – with just one day of campaigning left to go.

While the Conservatives have gained two points from late last week, and Labour dropped one with Reform UK also losing a point to 16 per cent, the narrowing of the polls appears to be too little too late for Mr Sunak after a disastrous campaign.

‘99% certain that Labour will win more seats than it did in 1997'

Sir Keir Starmer’s party is on course to win 484 seats, a new poll has found.

“The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats are in a close race to form the official opposition,” Survation said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

A probabilistic seat count, based on 34,558 interviews conducted online and on the telephone, puts Labour on course to win 484 seats, the Conservatives on 64 and the Liberal Democrats on 61.

It expects the SNP to win around 10 seats, Reform UK seven, leaving Plaid Cymru and the Green Party with three each.
