Hannah Ingram-Moore told Piers Morgan that her late father had wanted his family to keep the profits in Club Nook Ltd, a firm that is separate from the Captain Tom Foundation.
In a clip released ahead of the interview, which is being aired this evening, she said that her father “specifically” wanted her to keep the book profits.
She insisted there was no suggestion anyone who purchased the books thought the money was going to charity, but the prologue of Sir Tom’s book says it is a “chance to raise even more money for the charitable foundation now established in my name.”
The Independent exclusively revealed last year the foundation had paid tens of thousands of pounds to companies run by Ingram-Moore and her husband.
She will also address her “regret” over building a spa and pool complex at their Grade II listed home in Bedfordshire, despite planning applications being submitted in the foundation’s name.
His knighthood ‘meant everything’ to him
Knighthood by the Queen “meant everything” to Captain Tom, his daughter said.
‘It was his dream to go to Barbados'
Responding to the critcism of taking her father to Barbados, Hannah Ingram-Moore said: “It was his dream.”
As part of his bucket list, Captain Tom’s daughter list said her father he wanted to go back to India, jump out of an aeroplane, and “go to watch the cricket in Barbados”.
“Finally we found a period of time where we could all go, and we were all invited, and his dream was to go and see the cricketers in Barbados.”
‘We’ve never been able to grieve as a family'
“We’ve never been able to grieve as a family, because we had to grieve with the world,” Hannah Ingram-Moore’s husband said, speaking of his father-in-law’s death.
The “glare of the media” was always there.
Family address spa pool controversy
Speaking about the pool and spa complex that was built, Hannah Ingram-Moore said: “We wanted this building to be storage, multi-purpose [...] we also wanted to have it as a community building to help some of the aging population.
“We wanted it as part of that legacy.”
Piers Morgan said: “I think that was a mistake.
“It’s very hard to argue that you need a spa pool to pay tribute to your father.”
“I think that’s what angered the public.”
‘We did not intend it to be the Captain Tom Foundation'
Continuing to speak about the pool and spa complex, Ms Ingram-Moore said: “Our original application- the name was never meant to be the Captain Tom Foundation- it was meant to be the Captain Tom building. That got lost in translation.
“The building was never meant to be for charity, it was meant to be somewhere we could do charitable work.”
“We did not intend it to be the Captain Tom Foundation.
“We completely accept responsibility for that.”
‘Hindsight is a wonderful thing'
“Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we should have been more careful. We should have done this differently,” Ms Ingram-Moore said.
‘We paid for the spa pool building'
When asked who has paid for the spa pool building, Captain Tom’s daughter said: “We have.”
She added that “not one penny” was paid for by the foundation, “ there would no paper trail”.

When asked about the family’s company making £800,000, the family said that “the majority” of the £800,000 came from products trademarking his name.
Family force Piers to abruptly stop interview when pressed on where the £800,000 came from
When Piers Morgan questioned Hannah and Colin Ingram-Moore about where the £800,000 has come from, they quickly became uncomfortable.
Eventually, after an “unfair line of questioning,” the family asked for the interview to be abruptly stopped and for the cameras to stop rolling.
Ms Ingram-Moore dramatically left the chair she was sitting on and the interview was stopped.
Piers revealed that the couple then told him off the record where the money had come from, and then agreed to resume the interview on-camera.
