At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Natalie Dormer has been the perfect casting choice for Margaery Tyrell on Game of Thrones. She’s cool, calm, and capable in the face of warring houses, religious fanatics and turbulent political plot twists.
But Dormer had to rely on those very qualities in real life when someone suggested she bore a resemblance to Kermit the frog’s new girlfriend, an anthropomorphic pig named Denise.
Appearing as part of a Game of Thrones panel at New York Comic Con, an audience member suggested Dormer bore an “uncanny” resemblance to Denise, whose relationship with Kermit has been publicised in the run-up to the Muppets' new show on ABC.
Showing an unprecedented level of level-headedness, Dormer admitted she could understand the comparison as she was bullied at school for having a “piggy nose”.
“I was bullied at school and I used to get told I have a piggy nose. I’ve got big nostrils, my whole family does. It’s a burden that we bear," she said, laughing.
"So when I saw that Kermit’s got a new girlfriend, I thought maybe I’m a bit responsible...I’d already made the comparison to my nostrils with a pig, so I can’t really argue about it then.”
She added that she even requested a line be added to Game of Thrones in Season Three, where her character reveals she was mocked by other girls over her appearence.
While she deserves praise for taking the whole thing in her stride, it still seems like a huge waste of everyone’s time to spend a Q&A focused on a TV show picking fault with a woman’s physical appearance.
Especially given that time could have been spent prying Dormer (and the other cast members) for spoilers about Season Six.
