In a video shared by a fan on TikTok, the football tight end could be seen at Arrowhead Stadium on 22 October, after the Kansas City Chiefs won their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. During the event, his rumoured girlfriend, Swift, was also seen cheering in the stands for him, as she sat in the VIP suite with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes.
The TikTok video started off with Kelce – who was wearing a red checkerboard shirt and white pants – waiting for an elevator, while a crowd of fans were watching and cheering for him. During the occasion, one person even shouted: “Let’s go Taylor’s boyfriend!”
In response to the remark, Kelce had a small smile on his face and pumped his fist into the air. He then proceeded to step into the elevator.
Fans have now gone to the comments of the video, which has more than 143,000 views, to praise Kelce for how he responded to the new nickname, with claims that he looked like he was happy about the moniker.
“He is so proud,” one wrote, while another added: “This is so dang cute.”
A third wrote: “Best response ever!”
On Sunday 22 October, Swift attended one of Kelce’s games for the fourth time, amid ongoing reports that they are dating. For the occasion, she wore an oversized red Chiefs crewneck with a black pleated skirt and her signature red lipstick.
She also had a sweet moment with Brittany Mahomes in their Mahomes family suite, where they shared their own handshake after the Chiefs scored a touchdown during the second quarter of the game. The celebratory move started off with the gals slapping the fronts and back of their hands together multiple times before they held hands and bumped their hips together.
In addition, the “Anti-Hero” singer wore the perfect accessory to the event: a friendship bracelet with Kelce’s jersey number – 87 – on it, between two beads with hearts on them. The bracelet choice came months after Kelce was spotted wearing a beaded bracelet with the title of Swift’s song “Vigilante S***” from her 2022 album Midnights on it.
When speculation first broke about Swift and Kelce in July, it was actually due to the NFL star’ comment about a friendship bracelet. At the time, he confessed that he previously tried to give the singer one with his number on it at one of her concerts earlier this year.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows, because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he explained to his brother, Jason Kelce, during an episode of their New Heights podcast. “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”
Since then, rumours about the pair have continued to heighten, as Swift made her first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium in September, when she watched the Chiefs’ game in a suite with Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce.
Swift and Kelce have also been photographed together on various occasions, including a date last weekend in New York City after their surprise appearances on the season 49 premiere of Saturday Night Live. At the time, sources alleged to Entertainment Tonight that during their date, Kelce got a little too close to Swift’s security personnel, with claims that he told her bodyguard to step aside.
However, during an episode of his podcast, Kelce explained what he said to the security, and clarified that he didn’t push the bodyguard. “I placed my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I was behind him. If I would have pushed him, he probably would have turned around and tased me,” he said.
He also spoke candidly about his habits when dating and how his “protective nature” affects him. “I feel like whenever I’m on a date I’m always having the sense of, like, I’m a man in the situation. I’m like protective.”
When Jason asked if he ever feels like Swift’s personal security guard, Kelce added: “Yeah, for sure. You always kind of have that feeling or that self-awareness, I guess.”
