Your support makes all the difference.As Thanksgiving is officially here, retailers have decided whether they plan to stay open during the holiday or close their doors for the day.
In years past, it was not uncommon for big name stores to welcome customers on Thanksgiving, or open on Thanksgiving evening, hours before the official start of Black Friday.
However, the pandemic has seen the practice change over the last three years, with many retailers that used to open on the last Thursday of every November now shut for the holiday.
Walmart and Target are among the retailers that have announced permanent closures on Thanksgiving moving forward.
But that doesn’t mean that the closures have become the norm across the board, as there are many retailers that will remain open today.
Starbucks is one retailer that plans to welcome customers on the holiday, while certain supermarkets, such as Whole Foods, will also be open this Thanksgiving.

Home Depot will also close its doors on Thanksgiving this year. However, the store will open on Black Friday at 6am.
Retailers under the TJX Companies umbrella, which include TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra and HomeSense, will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Lowe’s will also join big name retailers in closing its doors on Thanksgiving this year. The company is expected to open stores at 6am on Friday.
Unlike a number of supermarkets, Trader Joe’s will also close on Thanksgiving, according to the company’s website.
The stores will resume normal operating hours on Black Friday.
As for the stores that will be open on 24 November, a number of retailers have assured customers they will be greeted with open doors on Thanksgiving.
Starbucks has confirmed most stores will be open on Thanksgiving, however, the coffee chain noted that hours may vary depending on location.
“This holiday season, Starbucks store hours vary by location and stores may occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs,” the company said. “We recommend customers look for specific store hours using the Starbucks app or by visiting our website store locator.”
Most Walgreens stores will be open from 9am to 6pm on 24 November, while 24-hour locations and pharmacies will operate as usual.
According to Walgreens, the company will resume normal hours on Friday 25 November.
According to Acme, stores will be open with limited hours on Thanksgiving, with many operating from 7am to 4pm. To see when the supermarkets will be open, customers are encouraged to check local store hours here.
For those who need last-minute ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner, Stop & Shop supermarkets will also be open but operating with limited hours.

Most Wegmans supermarkets will be open on Thanksgiving, however, most locations will close at 4pm and reopen at 6am the following day.
According to the company, its Northborough, Chestnut Hill, Burlington, Westwood, and Medford locations will not be open on Thanksgiving, while its Brooklyn location will close at 4pm and reopen on 7am Friday 25 November.
