Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have broken up after five years together. The formerly engaged couple, who share one child together, were runners-up during season five of Love Island.

On August 14, Hague and Fury each shared their respective statements on Instagram announcing their split. “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way,” Hague wrote on her Instagram Story.

The 25-year-old influencer said she was “extremely upset to announce” the split but maintained that their one-year-old daughter, Bambi, will “always be my priority.”

Hague thanked her fans “for the love you have shown us over the last five years,” adding: “You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all.”

Fury, also 25, later made his own statement regarding the split, saying he was “heartbroken” but their daughter Bambi was “our priority.”

The former couple welcomed their daughter in January 2023. Fury proposed to Hague in July last year.

Hague and Fury purchased home together in 2022

The former couple bought their first home together in March 2022 after three years of house-hunting.

They purchased a £4 million ($5.13 million) home in Cheshire, England, with six bedrooms. In October 2021, the couple’s apartment in Manchester was burgled in a “gang raid,” in which Hague said the thieves “took everything”.

“I need to be more careful now about the things I’m sharing, the things I’m talking about,” Hague said, following the burglary. However, she explained that she won’t let it “stop” her life and the way she wants to live.

“I can’t let this situation affect me to a point where I’m constantly thinking, ‘Well I can’t do this’ or, ‘I can’t do that’. I’m not going to let it change my life that much.”

The pair were heading out on a date when the incident occurred, leaving Hague “flustered”, “in shock” and experiencing “flashbacks”.

She explained in a YouTube video: “I just drove down this little bit of road which has made me have a flashback that happened a couple of days ago. It was the weirdest thing ever and we kind of experienced our first little car crash.”

Hague confirmed that the couple were “completely fine” after the incident.

Fans were outraged that Fury was working while Hague was heavily pregnant

Back in December 2022, Hague revealed that she and Fury were mainly communicating via FaceTime, just one month before Bambi’s birth.

“People have these dream pregnancies where they’re always with their husbands doing baby shopping and cute things, and me and Tommy literally just communicate through FaceTime,” the influencer said on social media at the time. “Because he’s been away so much, he sometimes forgets. I’m like, ‘You do understand I’m two months away… we’re going to have a child.’”

Fans were instantly upset over Hague’s admission, taking to social media to share their concerns.

“I feel so sorry for Molly-Mae spending her pregnancy alone even though Tommy can easily afford to put his career on hold,” wrote one X/Twitter user.

“Primarily communicating via FaceTime when you’re significant other is pregnant is shameful sorry,” said another.

“I actually feel so sorry for Molly-Mae. Say what you want about her but no woman deserves to do their pregnancy journey alone. It’s a time for love and gentleness – not isolation,” shared another.

Hague was open about her emotional difficulties during her pregnancy

“I just felt like every single day I was living an outer body experience, my emotions were something I’d never experienced before,” she said.

“I cried maybe five times a day for no reason. Just in tears over everything. Also just the shock for Tommy and I. It’s honestly taken up until now to sink in. Every time we talk about it, it feels like we’re talking about a situation that’s not our own because it was a complete shock, I can’t lie.

Hague’s pregnancy came as ‘complete shock’ to the former couple

The former Love Island couple has also admitted that Hague’s pregnancy came as a “complete shock” to them.

“I literally just can’t explain how the shock literally overtook my body for the first month, 100 percent,” the influencer said in a October 2022 video blog posted to her YouTube channel. Hague explained that her pregnancy came at a “really tricky time” during Fury’s professional boxing career.

“To add into the situation, we were going through a really tricky time with Tommy and his work and fights happening then not happening, and situations being completely out of our control, and me trying to emotionally support him while also being in the emotionally hardest period of my entire life,” she said.

When she first found out she was expecting, Hague said she “didn’t cry” due to the shock and confessed that it was not a “magical” moment.
