Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

From Languedoc Roussillon

Le Versant Grenache Rose Pays d’Oc 2015

The reliable Foncalieu co-operative from the Languedoc is behind this excellent, red fruit flavoured, fullsome rosé, proof that savoury Grenache Noir is a fantastic grape for ‘pinks’ as a solo act. For tomato-based tapas and pasta dishes or picnic spreads. £9.00, The Secret Cellar; £10.64, winecellarclub.co.uk

From the Rhône valley

E. Guigal Cotes du Rhône Rose 2014

Moving eastwards to the Rhône valley and from the equally reliable Guigal stable, the Grenache here is given added spiciness and complexity with Cinsault and Syrah. The red fruit flavours are even more dominant and there is a nice lingering finish, making it full bodied enough for barbecued fish or white meats. £10.50, farehamwinecellar.co.uk; £11.95, winedirect.co.uk

From Provence

Le Grand Cros Domaine Rose 2015

Finally, to Provence, the home of many of the best rosés and an exceptional blend where spicy Cinsault dominates. A gorgeous orange-pink, fragrant with citrus aromas and delicious mouth-filling flavours of raspberries, tangerines and herbs. The one for a full-on bouillabaisse, in the garden, on a warm night.. £10.95, bbr.com
