Terry Kirby selects the best bottles to buy

Sunday lunch
Riscasoli Albia Rose 2011
The first of three rosés for high summer and warm weather drinking is a Tuscan blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. A lovely pale pink, it has classic rosé flavours of red fruits, with surprising length and a nice overall mineral quality. Drink in the garden with some big prawns or a lobster.
£11.99, yorkshirevintners.co.uk; £9.45, thedrinkshop.com (minimum order six bottles)
Midweek meal
Santa Digna Rose Reserva 2012
A much more full-bodied proposition from Chile, this dark, smooth, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon rosé has a blend of strawberry and cherry fruits, with a backbone of some blackcurrant and stays just the right side of dry. Excellent with simple grilled chicken or pork, or a summer pudding.
£7.20, pauladamsfinewines.co.uk; £8.40, tanners-wines.co.uk
Bargain basement
Les Dauphins Côtes Du Rhône 2012
With a nice retro label, this refreshing pink from the South of France is redolent of southern Mediterranean sunshine. Good with barbecued food, tapas or a bowl of pasta, an unfussy, all- round wine for summer.
£5 (until 11 July, usually £6.75), Asda
