Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Founders Chelsie Collins and Kristelle Levy launched their delectable Easter range including their Easter Mess Giant Cookie. It's a double chocolate chip cookie base topped with classic Easter treats.
Chelsie said: "All of our cookies are hand rolled, finished and baked fresh daily. Unlike other large chains, we are a small batch bakery using organic ingredients, unrefined sugar, Cotswold flour and free range eggs."
"We individually roll each cookie dough ball and weigh every chocolate chip (amongst other toppings) into our cookies for perfect eating every time," Kristelle added.
Blondies Kitchen's popular Cookie Pizza is getting a mini version. The Mini Cookie Pizza will still have Chelsie and Kristelle's signature vanilla dough base with Nutella and peanut toppings.
And if that is not enough, their Old Street Station pop-up offers a free shot of Blondies Kitchen milk.
Chelsie and Kristelle love coming up with new cookie twists. Remember the amazing Mince Pie Cookie Cups they released in time for the 2017 festive season?
